Logo desigining websites: what do you think

If you check online, you can find numerous logo designing websites. Few clicks and you can create a wonderful logo, however, in order to download these logos, you have to pay a price. You are asked to pay as much as $70 for a logo. This is really heavy price because we can hire a freelancer to do a good logo for as low as $5.
Have you used these websites, what's your view?

I've never used these sites because I can design logos on my own, but in my opinion, as with most things you get what you pay for. If you go with the cheaper ones, they might come out looking good, but what you are really paying for with the expensive ones is the education behind the logo production. With the more expensive ones, you can more likely be assured that each choice has a reason behind it and that it relates to helping your business succeed and establishing your brand whereas with the cheaper ones you might just be getting something that the designer thought looked nice enough to submit.

However, not all expensive services guarantee that this is the case, and not all cheap services are void of thought either, since sometimes people are just lowering their prices to get their reputation level started, and other expensive services might just have gotten there by pure luck alone as I've seen many high priced logo services that produce very amateur looking stuff that probably just passes very easily with the average startup who don't know or care much about it. Personally, for me it's best to know what you want first and look for the artist that can fulfill it, rather than just randomly selecting people from the internet to buy from.

Well, do you see any point in using such websites where you build logos from the available templets and designs, which might also be sued by other people. Is there a point in paying such a high amount when you know your logo is not 100 percent unique?

The website you have encountered is really bogus. One can have a logo which is original, unique and much cheaper if you just hire a graphic designer to do it. There are many sites that offers such thing such as pph and upwork.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

vinaya
That's what I think. The logo designers you fine online charge you very high for a logo that you will be building from the templets and typography available on the site. It is better to hire a designer and do the custom design. Having said that there are also logo designing programs that are cheap. canva is free to use, if you want to use premium templets you have to pay $1.

The only problem when it comes to logo designing program is that the ready to use designs may be used over and over again. This may lead to similar logos used by other people and may get you in trouble in the future.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

vinaya
That's true. Since you will be designing the logos from the available templates and if another person also used the same templates, your logos will be identical. You will never get a unique logo by using such websites.

I think these days logos have a little less value than they did in the past, to be completely honest, because there are already tons of them due to online sites and apps becoming a thing and each one of them having their own logo and identity. It's why you see a lot of them just having a simple one letter logo to represent their app or site, and sometimes that's enough these days. I would not use any logos or services that I think will get me sued later on in any capacity, and as far as paying a high value for what will probably turn out to be a semi generic logo, I think it's still worth it for the assurance of competence alone but just realize that you don't need to put the bulk of your budget on it.

Some logo designing websites charge you up to $70 for a logo. These websites have tons of templates and you will be designing the logo from these templates. My question is it is worth to pay such a big charge for a logo that is built from a template that would also be used by other people. This question is important because we can have a custom made logo for as little as $5 from freelance marketplace.

If it were me, I would just compare the skill of the freelancer to the logo website and see how far the difference is. If it is close then I would just go with the freelancer because there's no point paying more for something that others are just going to use anyway with a few tweaks in it, and for way less I could possibly get something original then it's no question to me that I'd go with the five dollar one instead or maybe even better I'd just pay a bit more and find someone from the site and pay as much or a little less like maybe $50 to get something original.

The highest amount I have paid for a logo is $10. I paid $10 for a finished logo and the working files. Had I not asked for working file, I would have that logo for just $5. I think you should hire a designer from developing countries to get logos for cheap.

I have used an online logo designer before and although it came out alright. There is nothing like the work of my graphics lady. You have seen my website, she does awesome work and her price is more than reasonable. And I don't think that you're ever going to get a logo maker that can compete with a real-life designer.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Baburra
I agree. I think someone who has the eye for good design can be the best bet and most of the time these days you can find someone with a reasonable price range anyway. I think it's best to hire people you can trust because most of the time you'd end up needing something else done by them anyway and it's good to be able to establish those good relationships early on.

I have also created logos from logo designing website, however, I also believe that the custom-made logo from a logo designer is always the winner. When you hire a designer to do a logo, you will only get a unique piece. However, by using the existing templates on logo designing websites, you are only duplicating logos but not creating new ones.

"There is nothing like the work of my graphics lady."

The simple fact is that a computer that is randomly (or with the input of a user) creating a preset logo isn't going to have the same touch that a human has. Human intuition and creativity is a unique characteristic that simply cannot be recreated through computer generated content. Maybe at some point when artificial intelligence is sufficient enough, computers will be able to randomly generate unique content that is on par with any human graphic designer. But I think that we are still incredibly far off from that point. Stuff like that would probably require quantum computing, which we're just beginning to get a grasp on.

I have used machine generated logos as well as human created logos. Some logo designing websites offer free logo. All you have to do is provide necessary details and choose a theme. If oy want a better resolution, you will have to pay for the logo, however, you can get average quality
for free. Some logo designing websites charge you a lot of money, they might ask up to $80 per logo. You can get a human logo under $5 on Fiverr. Based o my experience I can say human created logos are always better than machine generated logo because human created logo is unique.

I have never tried any logo designing websites, but, I have tried some logo generators and they do not require any payments. The thing is, it is quite limited. You would not be able to get the exact result you want to have.
As to what you are saying, if a logo designing website is requiring you with payments and still does not deliver to your expectations and still you have to work on it, it is not worth it. I agree with just hiring a freelancer, they would be able to do logo for you with a lot more cheaper option and you don't have to stress about it.

The logo generator sites are just making simple logos that you can't even submit to a client as far as I'm concern. So, that's totally different.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

kammy143
True , that is why it is better just to hire a professional to get what you really want. These generators are giving out free logos, but, Just like what you have said these generators cannot give out the results a client need and wants.

I have tried logo generator, free as well as paid. The free version will create a logo of poor quality and also leave the trademark. The premium version is good but might cost a lot of money. The programs I have used cost as much as $70 for a single logo. The logo can be good if you are using the premium version, however, you will be building a logo from the existing templates and this templates will also be sued by other people. Therefore, you will never have a unique logo from logo generators.

Going with a logo designing website is simply by choice and I don't think there is any reason for anyone to complain about how much they charge in order to design those logos. The thing is that they are in business and how much they charge is dependent on the cost of doing business at the end.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

vinaya
Well I am not making complaints, I am just stating the facts associated with using logo generators and logo designing websites. The choice is yours whether you want to hire a freelancer to do a custom logo or develop logo through logo generators or logo designing websites. Yes, they are in business. However, as a client, we also have to think about pros and cons of such programs.

Haven't been on a site like this before but it seems a bit expensive to pay for a logo. I myself actually knows how to create or design a logo, but sometimes I did also do some research or rather than go on some free websites and look for ideas. And about the freelance things, it is probably the best idea you can come up if you're that short of money or thinking of something more safe. Because why would you pay a 70$ for a logo if you can pay or hire someone to make your logo for at least 5$, and the results are the same or the 5$ logo is the more awesome one.

If you already have graphic designing skills and can create logo from photoshop, illustrator or inDesign, then it is great. However, it is also true that there are so many people in need of logos and they do not have any skills. Logo generators and logo designing programs are aimed at those people. If you cannot design a logo yourself, you have to options, either to hire a freelancer or use services of these programs. Sometimes these programs can be terribly expensive.

I think finding a proper logo designer is complicated. Sometimes, you have someone whose work is of the highest caliber and quality. But - they just don't have the flare for your desired theme. Maybe you run a website about tech or video games for example. The designer then shows you a sample. They do good work, but they cannot capture the feel of what a gaming or tech logo should look like. The quality is there, but the proper colors, characters, etc. are not. Now if you find someone who is charging a somewhat cheaper rate than the first person, but they captured what you imagined for your logo to look like? Then you're obviously going to hire that person for the job. Sometimes it's not about money, but the how the artist themselves "fit" your project.

Choosing a designer is really hard. I once hired a designer on Fiverr. I was unsatisfied even with 6 revisions. I explained the details on logo type, typography, design, color theme etc., yet the artist could not do the kind of logo I had in my mind. I had to buy the logo even though I was not satisfied with the service.

Some logo designers post a set of previously designed logo's they stole from someone else. Thus the designer you're hiring on some sites, may have a great portfolio of logo's shown on their page. But the truth is, they didn't design any of them. It's an unfortunate part of that world.

I have experienced such thing. ON fiverr I hired a graphic designer. I really liked his sample works. However, when he delievered the logo, I did not like it. I asked him to do revisions. However, I did not like his two revisions as well. However, I had to buy the logo even though I did not like it. Since the money I paid to the designer was just $5, I did not lose a big amount, but I did learn a lesson.

Having a logo per se is a good idea which enhances the content to some degree. Having said that is it that necessary that a logo should have a state of the art design? Can one not live with one created by the content owner. There are so many tools available free, for creating logos.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

By using programs like canva everyone can create a nice logo for free. yes content creators can themselves create logos for theri websites and blogs with few clicks by using drag and drop tool available in logo designing programs. However, logo is more than a graphics with some text, it is the face value of something, whether it is your blog, business or company.

What you are not understanding is that these logo desigining websites are just using ways to attract customers and buyers, when any of the logo is bought you won't see it on the website again, this is their only strategy in enforcing a buyer.

Buying from Logo designing websites depends on you not them, all they just want is interested client who will purchase their logo at all cost, you might want any of it or get a random freelancer to help you out that's if you can't buy from them.

Another thing about these Logo designing websites they just use that medium to get other graphics freelancers, they include their charging rate with the freelancers service rate since it is an original work, that's why their fees are high all the website do is to advertise this logo to people who click on the site.

I have come across so many logo designing websites they really know have great logos, as a graphics designer or if you have a friends/families /foes who know how to do logos, you can introduce them to another avenue of making money through their creativity.

You will be designing the logo on the logo designing websites and logo generators from the available templates. You can, of course, customize the logo by having your own text and editing the graphics, however, after all the main elements are same. When another person uses the same templates, your logo and his logo will have similarity. Therefore, there is no point in paying high.

I have used one website to help me make our company logo. It saves time and effort. I don't need to think much and all I need to do is to agree or not to the design provided or suggested.

You pay for it for a few dollars but at least you reap something professionally looked logo. So it's worth it.

Whether the logos generated from such website will have any value or not depends on your primary purpose of having a logo. If you need a nice logo and you don't care much about the originality, I think such services are good for you. However, if you need a unique logo, logo generators do not fulfill your purpose. Logo designing website generates a wonderful logos in few clicks, however, they are not original.

I'd prefer freelancers than these sites. Quality is pretty much the same, and the thing about freelancers is that you can make specific requests or changes in the logo you ordered. And the best thing is, freelancers jobs have lower prices.

Every reasonable individual wouldn't be comfortable paying a heavy fine of $70 for a logo that the individual can get done for him at a low cost of $5 to $10. I haven't made any use of such sites and not planning on doing so anytime sooner because it's actually a shitty thing to do from my point of view.

I doubt many people know they can hire a freelancer to design a logo for them as low as $5 from some freelancer sites. I think if you go and get a graphic designer, it might cost you more than $70, and when someone search online for logo design, these online logo generators might come up in the top search results instead of those freelancer sites, hence I think there are still people would choose to go for these websites. Moreover, they can also customize the logo themselves, and think this might be the better and cheaper way.

You make an interesting point. If you go to freelancer sites, you can get a logo for a cheap price. I have seen some people offering a logo design for just $1 on SEO Clerk. If you hire a graphic designer, it can cost you as much as $100 for a logo. I know people who have paid this amount for a logo. If you do a google search on logo design, the result will pop up with logo generators. You can create logos on these websites from the existing templates. Some of the logo generators charge you upto $70 for a logo.

"…because we can hire a freelancer to do a good logo for as low as $5"

Sure, if you're paying a teenager on Fiverr who has an entry level knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator. There aren't many self respecting graphic designers out there who will create a half-decent logo for you for just $5. As the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. Believe you me, the difference between a $5 logo and a $100 one is immediately visible, not only by the quality of the image, but the message that it conveys.

There's a lot of logo designing websites nowadays some are free and the best ones are not.

If I'm creating a simple logo, I just use the free ones. But if I'm designing a logo for a client I just make one from scratch, depending on the price I can do it using Photoshop or Adobe.

On the freelance websites, if the payment is low, it is much likely that the editor is just starting, he may have less experience than those who are with higher prices. But you can get good logos in just low rice if you can find someone with good reviews so I think that finding other people who testify that person's work is necessary to see what kind of result you will be getting.

While they're not scams per se, they're very impersonal and won't lead into very interesting results, but I reckon they're more for someone who doesn't care about the logo and just needs something for a letterhead or something. After all it's much faster to just do few clicks yourself than to hire a freelancer, even if the cost would be much higher.

I have used them before, but I wouldn't be against the idea.

One of the drawbacks of using free apps and programs is your end product might have water marks or of low quality. I use a free logo designing program, the free service allows to create a logo that is only 200 by 200 pixels. For a premium service, you need to pay $50 for each logo. On canva you cna design logo for free, however, if you wnat a transparent background, you need t pay $1.

I don't think they're good and useful. So many people used these sites and they've got a lot of like templates to choose from for your logo which is good but my problem is chances are your logo will look similar to someone else's logo. I think it's best to hire someone to do it or just do it yourself if you have enough knowledge about design and graphics, or if you don't try YouTube.
