What to you is the smartest brand logo?

I was curious so I cheked the most iconic brand logos in the world and my search came up with the top 5: Starbucks, Nike, McDonald's, Pepsi, and Apple. I got to thinking, there are some brands that have kind of a hidden and subtle message in their logos. For example, the FedEx logo has an arrow shape between the e and the x, an arrow sign that means fast or quick. How about you, have any brand logos caught your attention or maybe you've decoded the hidden message in these famous logos we see everyday and everywhere.

I remembered somebody who said that there is a place that Coca Cola is more well known than Jesus Christ. I think it was in a missions conference in church. I think it was a missionary to a certain tribe.

Coca-Cola has been in the industry for a century already, and I guess the logo is never been old.

That's odd. I think is necessary but remember the issue about Coca-Cola's logo. I watched it on YouTube it really stunned me.

One of the key traits of most efficient logos is their simplicity. On the only hand, it turns into a challenge for a designer to create a sign that is both simple and on the identical time recognizable. On the other hand, it could provide clients the phantasm that logo brand creation is a type of simple operation that desires a couple of hours and doesn’t require special talents, too much time or attempt. This is quite a mistake and such an approach will deliver branding to nowhere.

Something that will remind people of what the company does. A logo that can easily be tied to the company. A logo that is appealing in color and design. These for me are some of the traits of a good logo.

I agree with you. Even though the thought of something "simple" is so easy, you'll realize that it's actually difficult because most people tend to overdo it.

I love Nike's logo. Nike is named after the Greek goddess of speed, strength, and victory - and these are all denoted by the simple yet meaningful "Swoosh" logo. Simplicity, elegance, form, and balance are what makes Nike's logo so effective in portraying its brand image.

Nike is a great brand and it's not a surprise that it came up among the world top 5 best brand smart logo.

But I keep wondering what happened to Adidas? This company seem to be doing very well in the past. How did they get to be sidestep by Nike?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

jayjaydimson
Yes, Nike is also an awesome logo for me, because it's really simple and simplicity is a beauty.

Nike has a great logo. I agree that its simplicity makes it better. I like their printed logo in shoes.

True. I like Nike because its simple, elegant and best suits the brand. Logos that are easily recognizable and elegantly designed at the same time are best remembered by people. Logos are the symbol of a brand so it should be very well made and reflects the brand.

Your logo should create trademark that's unique from the others so people who see your logo will easily visualize the name of the company, like those famous brands mentioned above like Mcdo or Nike. They have simple designs yet those brands are famous because they created logo that were kind of different from others or not likely similar to other logos. A simple check design visualized us that this logo was from Nike. It maybe simple but there was a meaning behind their logo. Sometimes owners do rebranding or changing their corporate image if it's not effective to the audience and to make it more relevant to the costumers.

I think the apple logo is very unique, I haven't seen any other logos like what Apple has.

You have a very good point about mentioning that Apple brand logo design is very unique. In fact, I'm adding more credit to the Apple logo designer specialist because he did an excellent job with crafting such an incredible brand logo.

What I like about the Apple logo is the bitten off portion on the Apple. Do you have any idea what it signifies?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

edencaga
The very first logo wasn't design that way and it was designed by Steve Jobs and Ronald Wayne. In their first logo, Isaac Newton was featured at the logo where in he was sitting under the apple tree with a ribbon banner ornament on the frame. There was also a quotation there written and inscribed into the logo. It was then redesigned by Rod Janoff which comissioned by Steve Jobs to focus on the apple itself. The second design was a rainbow apple with a text "apple" which designed as bold and modern. It was said that the rainbow apple was to tribute Isaac Newton and the Fruit of the Tree of Knowledge which was from the story of Adam and Eve. I think the designer did not intent to give meaning to the apple bite. He just intended to emphasis that it was an apple and not a cherry. In the latter part they removed the text in the apple logo and changed it to black when they did renovations until polished into newer 3D versions and they changed the color into flat white or grey.

I don't actually know what it signifies, tho all I know is that the Apple logo is so amazing.

I agree with you. It's just simple yet very creative. It really screams "apple" and people doesn't have to think what brand it is because it's just straight remarkable.

I'm very sure that both Starbucks and Apple will definitely be among the top 5 best and smartest brands logo. When it comes to technology of mobile phones and other electronic devices, Apple is right on top of the world chatters and it's not going to drop anytime soon.

Apple’s logo is great for several reasons - perhaps best of all that their logo actually IS their business name. For ease of remembering, it has to be perhaps number one - and being able to remember a brand logo is one of the key parts of it being successful.

Yes, I agree with you, because it was known world wide, and I'm also thinking of the logo of the 7/11 because it's really a popular convenience store here in the Philippines.

7/11 is very popular in Japan, too. There are stores on just about every corner in the big cities! They’ve definitely got a recognizable logo.

I agree that 7-11 stores are very accessible now even in other countries. But have you noticed What is so special with their logo? The word 11 is spelled in uppercase except for n which was written in lower case. I have watched it in one Youtube videos. They said that the founders wife was the reason behind it. It was very effective.

I think that logos are a very important part of any business especially when it is a brand new business. I think most of the big companies and corporates spend a lot of money on designing the most appropriate logo for there business. People identify each brand with the help of its logo. I like the logo of Apple the most. Its very interesting and one of the most successful logos, and you can very easily identify an Apple product, once you see the logo

I think McDonald’s has to be right up there. Their logo is super simple, but has a good use of colors. Scientists say that red and yellow actually can promote hunger, so that’s a clever tactic from a food business. Also, the simplicity of their logo means that even kids can recall it almost immediately when they see it - and then they start asking for McDonalds!

I think for me the apple logo really caught my attention because it is simply a unique design but is a very popular one.People look at it as the most attractive and trusted logo nowadays maybe because of its quality that it attributes on its logo. It has been one of the top choice of other people when it comes to some gadgets since its significance and reliability is already trusted as compare to other brands out there.

I find making a logo difficult. Tried it in making one for my online business. It is hard because you really need the creativity to be able to produce a logo that is appealing and can represent all that the company is about. And that takes someone talented to come up with the idea of putting it into one logo.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

There is a big creativity that is involved when you are looking at making a logo. The thing is that making logos is not always as easy as we are made to see it as it involves a whole lot of perspectives that you should be ready to add up.

I don't know if there is a logo that will solely reign above the others. It is because every famous logos that we know, like you have mentioned does well in their own fields. They are brands of varied types of businesses. Actually, I don't focus much on logos, yes, I appreciate well-created logos, but most of the time, I don't dwell on the deeper meaning that they bear. I only care about their products and services.

The Apple logo is something that was redesigned when the main owner died to show that they have lost a huge member of the company. Each time that I look at their logos, I always remember that it is something that I won't say to be pretty easy for them to cope with.

When I initially saw the starbucks logo it was "love at first sight". I have always found it to be a fascinating logo and one which I would never mind holding a cup or storing one with the logo on.

Starbucks do a great job of marketing their products, too. Especially now in the holiday/winter season, their special red cups for Christmas are very popular. People go to Starbucks just to get their red cup!

Yeaah their logos are all over and since people love them it acts as a marketing tactic. People love going to work holding the mugs branded in the logo and colours hence doing more advertising for the company.

The brand although important still relies on the effectiveness, charisma, popularity and overall effectiveness of the product. If you have a lousy product, no amount of branding can make it successful.

Good point there. In America we have a saying that sort of suits that - "it's like putting lipstick on a pig".

Even if you try and make something pretty with a nice, fancy logo, it doesn't do any good if the product or service you're delivering is poor.

I also believe that the apple logo is the best! I love the simple image of an apple that can attract people to check what product it offers. I don't know the real history or meaning of this logo since I see a lot of information on the internet. But whatever it is, I still find the apple as a very appealing logo.

I think the Michael 'Air Jordan' logo is one of the smartest logos ever designed. It simply displays Michael Jordan in one of his greatest poses and moments, ever. It's totally synonymous with MJ and just looking at it once or taking a glance, you automatically know what it stands for.

I would have to say that Pepsi is my best brand logo. Pepsi has been in a blue colored can as long as I can remember. It is my favorite soda beverage. I actually think that I could do a taste test on Coca-Cola and Pepsi, and correctly pick the Pepsi product after tasting it.

Nespresso! With their Sans Serif typography, the logo denotes clarity and precision in the message, while the black color brings elegance and formality. The name is easy to pronounce, synthetic and refined; complex but powerful. It fuses two strong concepts: Nestlé-Nescafé and espresso. The intention is to denote premium quality.

Nescafé is a product of massive consumption in the planet, that is not characterized by its high quality among coffee tasters; but the espresso as a drink does relate to people who know about good taste. The style of the font is as simple as the product it offers: a capsule that, when inserted in a special coffee machine, gives high quality coffee without further efforts. The double line of the "N" refers to the aroma. Here, what really shines in the logo, is the simplicity and power of a good name, with the purpose of being applied on surfaces with sober colors and interchangeable with white, a show of elegance and quality.

The coolest logo for me is the logo of Amazon. It has a curve arrow from A to its letter Z representing that they have different kinds of things that may buy starting from the letter A down to the last letter Z. It looks like a smiley face as it also represents how glad they are to offer services to us. When I learned about this, I always think on how good they came up with this logo.

The logo that gets my attention was the Hyundai logo. I thought it just letter "H" that stands for Hyundai but there's really something on that logo and not just a letter H. It says it symbolised to a silhouette of two person shaking their hands. One is the representative of the company and the other one is the satisfied customer. Its kinda nice for me about the outcome of their logo.

Nike for me. It is so simple yet remarkable. It will take maybe less than an hour to do that logo for it's designer, and it's worth billion. I did a research on how they come up with that logo, I thought it was "Check" but it was more like "Swoosh".

Toblerone is my favorite brand of chocolate because I grew up eating it all day. The logo is kind of tricky. Before I thought it's just a mountain but later on i realize that there's an image of a bear on the left side. then i got curious of why there's a bear thee and what's its connection to chocolates and the mountain. I just knew that it is a company from Bern, Switzerland; home to the Matterhorn Mountain and also known as the "City of Bears". Now that makes sense.

I’m a particular fan of the FedEx logo. Why? For its absolute minimalistic simplicity yet incredible ingenuity. I remember when I first realized there was an arrow in the FedEx logo, my mind was absolutely blown. Even though I had never consciously registered that there was an arrow hidden in the text, I feel like it almost definitely had some sort of subconscious psychological impact on me.

Something always felt right about the logo even if it was so simple, and then it clicked when I learned the secret.

The coolest logos I've seen are Le Tour de France logo that has a cyclist on it, Pittsburgh Zoo with the gorilla and lioness, Wineforest that looks like scribble of trees but it forms into wine bottles. I think logo making is an art and the creators of those logos should be given a lot of credit.
