Suggestions and feedback thread for improving Pixel Clerks

Hi guys, I know Pixel Clerks is a relatively new site and it is using a template of sorts of Code Clerks right? And that of course it still requires some customization of sorts to make the site more unique in its own way based on what WordClerks site is about.

I'm sure of that. But I just thought it might be helpful to you or you might appreciate it if I made some suggestions and feedback. After all that is what you want anyway, you want people to use it, you want us to test it, you want our feedback that much is a given!

So here are some suggestions I have that I've thought of mentioning as I've been using the site and looking my way around and that.

First of the menu as it's a bit misleading and incorrectly labeled.

Where it says "Buy Software" it should say "Buy Pixels"?
Where it says "Sell Software" it should say "Sell Pixels?

Selling software or pixel based services?
Regarding actually selling and listing an item for sale where you fill in all the details. It appears to be the same as Code Clerks and is the form for selling software containing the Resell Agreement* you have to agree too and supported OS and License details etc. And the form to actually upload the software.

Category suggestion / confusion
And the categories is where I'm confused. On the Marketplace here there are about 15 categories all related to graphic design etc. But the category drop down selection when you're adding a new service is that of CodeClerks and it's not showing the right actual PixelClerks marketplace categories. I didn't know if you was aware of that but again I'm sure you was and it will be addressed by you!

Listing page suggestion
I think it would be better if PixelClerks used the same list a service page as SEOClerks uses since most of the services listed here will be the creation and selling of images, banner and logo creation etc which can then be attached by the seller when it's ready. As it's not software they are selling.

Actually, come to think of it, how did those people selling services here now get around that? Did they have to upload something as the software? I also see some of the services here have extras on them as well. But there is no option to add extras when you list a service here. So how did they manage that? Were those services imported from the graphic design app on SC perhaps? Strange! Suggestions and feedback thread for improving Pixel Clerks

Anyway, that's about it for now from me. I just think it would be nice and want to help the site in any way I can and would like to list some pixel related services here myself in the coming future anyway. Suggestions and feedback thread for improving Pixel Clerks

Does anyone else have any suggestions or feedback for Pixel Clerks?

If so let us hear!

Thanks!

I can see that it says "Sell Graphic Services" under the Seller tab and that's great, but I do agree with you Mike, that the "Buy Software" text under the Home tab should be changed. My guess is that both PixelClerks, WordClerks, CodeClerks and ListingDock too, is an exact copy of SEOClerks for starters, or perhaps CodeClerks was a copy of SEOClerks and the other marketplaces have been copies of CodeClerks. I don't know and it really doesn't matter. What matters is that these small things will be fixed and as long as we all help Ionicware out, these things will be fixed shortly. Thanks for sharing Mike! This suggestion relates to discussions. It would be nice to see a few sub categories of discussions in the drop down menu so that we can easily find topics that are relevant to us. For instance, discussions about web site themes differ from those of how to create graphics and could benefit from this sort of organization.

I would also suggest you try to work branding into your public terminology. You suggested that "buy software" should be "buy pixels", and this is excellent! See if you cannot work more of that sort of call back to your site's name, or create new terminology which will identify itself with your brand as a distinct thing from services offered by others.

I think that would be an amazing thing to see. I think it would be great if the community section was maybe sectioned off so that it was a bit like a proper forum. By this, I mean that we have categories and you can start a new discussion in that category. That way, the topics are separated and it will be easier to find topics that we want to discuss and makes it easier to see if there is a topic already for a question that we may have.

True. It can be a bit hard to find the relevant topics you want to join.

Agree! Categories would prove beneficial to the overall improvement of the forum's layout. Sometimes it's confusing because there are discussions that are different from your target question or idea.

Agree, if you guys use "pixel" terminology, it will add a very nice touch. Category list looks good for me, maybe you should try to check what members post, because sometimes they want to post a topic that is not completely related to the category. I like that all the clerk sites are related, same style, same order, and that makes easier to use them, once you're related to one, you can easily handle the rest of them.
