I admit that I am old now to watch cartoons but when I was a kid my favorite cartoon show is Tom and Jerry. It's my favorite because the story is just light and simple to the point wherein all you can do is laughing. The hunting portion of the story is one the thrilling part wherein you wish that Tom wouldn't catch Jerry for food. Tom and Jerry has a moral lesson to that's why my parents let me watch it even though full of violence lol.

Yeah, I very rarely watch cartoons, to be honest but recently I found a few of my past favourites on Netflix and as I had some spare time, decided to watch a few episodes. It's just not the same as when you enjoyed watching these shows when you were younger. I remember enjoying Tom and Jerry as well. Unfortunately, they just don't make good shows like that anymore.

DarthHazard,
I would like to recommend two cartoons for you here. You should check out One Punch Man--I think it is on Hulu or Netflix. You will laugh out loud and also possibly enjoy the action sequences. Also, for a fantastic ride with dark humor, philosophy, occult references, and cool plot lines, check out Adventuretime. It's one of my absolute favorite cartoons of all time. How about South Park? Hqve you ever watched that.

I remember a few years ago when there was all this hooplah and ballyhoo about how Tom And Jerry is too violent for kids to watch. I grew up watching this show, and others like it, and I turned out just fine, and I am not a violent person. I loved the gags on this show, and watching that poor cat get outsmarted over and over just never seemed to me to get boring. I also like Wile E. Coyote and his troubles with the Road Runner. He kept the Acme company n business though, lol.

As a kid my favorite cartoon character was Bugs Bunny because he's funny and he always says "What's Up Doc?". Also I like his voice and the way he speaks it's so funny.

I disagree here! You are never too old to watch cartoons! There are plenty of cartoon shows out there which are really geared towards adult consumption anyway. Just check out Adventuretime. I think you will find that its themes are very adult and really pretty cool, although a bit disturbing at times.

Totally agree. Doesn't matter how old you get, you will always like a cartoon. I was a huge fan of Mazinger Z, Thundercats, Silver Hawks, He-Man and She-Ra, Road Runner and Coyote, Tom and Jerry. Right now, my little God-son likes Phineas and Ferb, and honestly I enjoy the wacky cartoon. In fact, I'm a huge fan of Perry the Platypus.

Just saw Mr. Bogus on your comment and there was an instant flashback of my professor in college. My classmates calls him that 'coz his actions resembles Mr. Bogus'. Going back to the topic. I like Loony Toons' Taz and Cayote.

I did also watch Taz and Cayote before. I believe I've watched every loony toon character when I was a kid. I still remember how to easily draw Mr. Bogus until now. I used to draw his face when I was a kid.

I loved Tom and Jerry as a kid, and I actually still watch it now and again. Sometimes I get in a bit of nostalgic mood, so I make some of my favorite comfort food and throw on some old cartoons.

The earliest iterations of the show were my favorite. I believe they were done by Hanna-Barbera. The later versions with Chuck Jones and such were alright, but somehow lacked the charm that the Hanna-Barbera ones had.

I like Tom and Jerry a lot when I was a kid. I just enjoy it whenever the two are in peace or in a fight. Maybe for a kid this is interesting even though they speak minimal, close to none. I miss the old days.

I grew up watching Looney Toones including Tweety, Road Runner, Bugs Bunny and the likes. I also watch Tom and Jerry, The Simpsons, She-Ra and He-Man, My Thor and Moby Dick. Actually there's a lot to mention and I remember that watching cartoons, playing Nintendo and eating are the only things I do as a kid and we play with friends too, there's really a lot of physical and social activities back then compared to the kids of today's generation which only look at their tablets or phones.

I used to watch that as a kid too, although it wasn't really the cartoon of my generation so I mostly just watched the episodes that we had on home video. At that age it really was the perfect cartoon for me to watch because it was so simple and at the same time so comfortable too. Even with the slight violence, it really wasn't too much that it put me off and instead it just contributed more to the humor because it was more funny when I felt like the characters were really getting hurt instead of just being too obvious that it was just pretend.

My preferred version of Scooby-Doo must be the original. That version is the purest and excellent illustration of what I consider the creators desired, which turned into a cartoon presenting a bonafide creepy thriller for the group to solve, with room for occasional slapstick and a groovy track to boot.

Oh yes! Tom and Jerry was the absolute best cartoon of all time. I loved how they would always fight each other but I felt like they always loved each other. There were moments where they got along and showed affection.

My favorite is Adventure Time. They have this weird but fun cast of characters that add flavor to each episode. They represent the best mix of series continuity and spontaneity. I like each episode.

I agree, tom and jerry would be my all time favorite during my grade school days. And I don't know the reason why I would laugh on a cat and a mouse chasing each other. But other than that, It's a fun and amazing show, I'll admit that I always laugh whenever something happens or let's say the door smash or fall. It's just good old times. We must’ve been born around the same time because you just listed some of the classics that made up my childhood and young adult years. The shows you listed basically epitomize the golden age of Cartoon Network.

Ed, Edd and Eddy was a particular favorite of mine, with Edd probably being the dumbest character in all of animated history, but one of my favorites. Love-able oaf.

It’s a shame that Cartoon Network had to go downhill the way it did. I try watching it a couple of times throughout the year but I just can’t sit through most of the shows on these days.

We all loved Tom and Jerry cartoon animation when we were all kids but don't be surprised if there are still adults who are still very interested and much attached to watching Tom and Jerry till today. I say this because my junior brother who is 27 years old is still into watching Tom and Jerry and other cartoon animation today.

Yeah, me too. I remember I was still in Grade school at that time. Every time I got home, after I have changed my clothes, I directly go infront of tv just to watch Cartoon Network. What I remember was that, it always been a Tom and Jerry Show whenever I turned the tv when I got home from school.
