Why isn't there more animated music videos?

Why isn't there more animated music videos?

When I was a kid I remember animated music videos from bands like Gorillaz and Daft Punk and I remember being so fascinated by it. I thought it was unique and cool and wondered why other artists aren't utilizing it more back then. Fast forward several years, here I am still wondering the same thing. Why isn't there more animated music videos? Is it more expensive than live action? Does it take more time to make?
