How was you first graphics design experience

My first logo design wasn't the best and wasn't the worst either but I can't say it is good because I look back at my first design and I laugh because I can't believe I designed something that bad, lol.

If I am to rate it now I will say 4/10, so how will you rate your first logo design?

Most times, I have always outsourced all my graphics design works to professional in the field. Although I have tried to design logos and banner sometimes in the past but I did a very terrible job. So, whenever the graphics work is a serious one, I would delegate it to professional.

Yes, same here, I tried editing a logo or banner as my part-time job, and I get the most out of it.

I remembered the first one i made way back in high school. It was okay but the judges didn't pick it may be because they really don't understand the idea but thats really fine with me that's my first logo. But then my relative want request if I can make a logo for her tea business then I said okay I'll give it a try. Good thing they loved it and they are using now my logo for their business.

If I had the kind of softwares and technology available now in the past when I was still in college and university, I'm very sure that I would have done a more better job than what I did way back.

But it's all part of the learning process as the knowledge I acquired back then are still useful to me till now. No knowledge is useless or a waste.

I feel the same way too. Almost everything is different now than before. I actually envy the students nowadays as they actually have a full plate in front of them.

Yeah, some people start to design very early become perfect as time goes on but I had a different experience.

Wow that's great thing to hear, you stated very well if I may say because your first design was used for a good project.

My first graphic design project was roughly a -7/10, I had never worked with any of the programs before and my boss at the time was basically like "Hey we need a logo for this multimillion dollar project, can you make one?" while the logo itself wasn't an absolute failure learning to use all the software with a major deadline basically crouching over my shoulder, watching me as I messed up was not the best learning environment possible.

Now looking back, I know that that was possibly the best way to learn the software because I became incredibly efficient at fixing my mistakes and it taught me the software a lot quicker than other ways would have!

My first experience was really fun, I designed my own logo to be used by my own company. I think it took me a whole day and three graphic design softwares to come up with a good design.

Well it must have been a little difficult and thank God you finally did it and it was used for something nice.

Well, All I can say is it is a bit hard for me because I really have an idea how to do it easily. I'm doing it from scratch and on the spot analyzation. But I still had a good time and I enjoy it a lot. The experience is really interesting for me, and that motivates me to study more about graphic designing. What's the result? Well, I admit that it is not that good. It is just a simple one, nothing to be proud of.

Starting a graphic design project from the the scratch is very difficult. If you are not well skilled in the field, it's definitely going to be difficult to do anything decent.

Some people prefer using coral draw for their graphic design and it's one of the most difficult tools used for the job. I tried it once and gave up immediately.

i also tried corel draw for a simple task where i was editing a picture. It was so difficult and following the instructions that I was given also proved to be difficult. In the end I had to use either photoshop or the simple paint app in the computer.

My first logo design was for my school's Student Council and I was tasked to do it because I am an officer. I actually did it for almost one night because I was contemplating a lot with what to do. After finishing the design, I had to re-edit it for at least three times for it to be approved by our Council Adviser. Fortunately, everyone liked my design but as a first, I would have wanted it to become better if not the best and so if I were to rate it, I'll only give it 5 out 5.

ElectorAlexande
Wow, since you had the opportunity to re-edit it I think they may have found every fault in it and you have worked on it all so the rating is OK.

My first graphic design experience is on Photoshop, the app itself is so easy to access, you just need to explore it a lot.

The first logo that I have designed was for a Church group. Now that I think about it, I think it isn't half-bad. But I think I cheated in some way. They may have loved the logo so much just because they are all too kin, haha. So for that matter I would just give myself a passing grade 5/5.

I remember a couple of years back when I was setting up a business for selling laptop accessories and did not have sufficient funds to hire a designer so I had to go onto photoshop and make my own logo. It was not that imperfect but could use a designer's touch probably.

It is really worth trying and learning it would really be beneficial, especially for freelancers. It is a valuable skill that is always on demand. Plus, graphic designing could be a very enjoyable hobby, with products that sell well with clients.

You should never walk with your head down just because you fear that your skills are not as per what other people think is professional. Just start practicing and as long as you keep improving along the way then you will be good and always make an effort to learn more.

My first graphic design was on Corel Draw. First thing I did was collect some inspiration work of other professional designers, I learned from their design. Then, I studied the basic tools on Corel and then start my first logo. It is fun to learn and apply what you have learned at the same time, the output is not the best but it was worth it.

Well, everyone has they rough start. If I were to rate my first grapgic design which I made for ny mother, I would rate it as 3/10. It is not that beautiful but I exerted effort and time on that piece and what's imporatabt is that my mother appreciated it. From that day, I worked harder to create the best out of me. I practiced everyday and I am thankful for my mother who kept on supporting me.

The very first logo that I made was just for fun. It was for my friends. We actually have a name of our group and we also created a Facebook Group. So, I took the initiative to create a logo. It was not as amazing as I expected to be though. But, it was still presentable.

My first designs were pretty amateur. After all, we all need to start somewhere, and we're not going to be experts from the first time we create something. That's part of the appeal of graphic design to me, though. I'm always learning new techniques and styles, and better ways of doing things. I love being able to continuously get better at this craft.

I have never tried to have a graphic design since honestly I am not good at it, I think I still need to improve my skills to have such a wonderful work. But I am interested to know and acquire such skills in the future because I know it would helps me a lot. It maybe though at some point but the I am still optimistic that I can make it.

I think as long as you have that mindset of wanting to learn and having a desire to improve then you’ll do great. After all, that’s half the battle with getting started!

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yes that is true and I am really interested to learn since I am the type f person that really enjoys to learn more ideas since I know that I can benefit from it and might be able to used it in the future. It might be very hard at the very beginning but I am optimistic that I can make it if I will just have some patience and will work hard as well.

I agree with you. If you want it then there will always be a way. If you don't, then you will never learn it. It'll all with the willingness.

I would rate my first Logo Design as a 6/10. I still remember it clearly, the year was 1994 and I just opened up a printshop at home. A neighbor ordered 10 boxes of business cards for his new business and he needed a Logo so I made one for him using a software I was using then called Print Master Gold.

Wow! That's quite impressive and something that you should definitely try to build on. What you really need to do at the moment is to improve on your skills and become a better logo designer. This is one of the goals that I am looking at the final quarter of 2018.

Making my first graphic design is kind of frustrating but fun at the same time. Do you know what it feels like when the image is your mind is not the same as what you are expecting to be the outcome of your work? That was what I had experienced. Because it is the first time, i struggle on how to apply properly the functions of the app that I am using. It's not that I don't know how to use it but there are things that I want my design to look like but the app doesn't allow me because the function is not available. I believe the more you think of an awesome work makes it more difficult for you to do so. But after all the struggle, frustrations and ideas that clashed through my mind, I made something that is near of what I am expecting. At least I tried and there's always room for improvement and also I just need to learn how to use more complicated new apps that will make your dream work come true, of course.

I’ve definitely had that happen where I’ve had a great mental picture of how I wanted a design to come out, and the finished product looked nothing like it! I will say that as my graphic design skills have become more advanced it’s much easier to imagine something and have it turn out the way I wanted.

I only dabble in graphic design, since my main niche is illustrating. I can say for sure my first logo didn't look that good. It was really hard to make since I had to learn a new program to make it. I was proud of it, I still am but I know I can do better now. I'm in the mood to get started on another one actually.

I had lots of fun designing my first project. It was a long time ago and I was practicing my logo making skills since I was planning to open up a printshop. The very first Logo I've designed was the logo of my company Cold Fusion Graphics. Even today I have regrets in closing it down to work in a corporation.

I was in college when I made my first graphic design. It has been years and I don't remember the grade or rating that I got when I submitted it. I think I don't really have the skill for graphic design but I admire those who can do great at it.

I am not really good in making logos. My first experience was when we had our Feasibility subject and I was the one who assigned to create logo and I was happy as they were satisfied with the logo I made and after that time, I considered to get the subject of Advertising Arts and finished with BFA major in Advertising. It's hard to make a logo it's not only the design itself but it should standout to the audience. You need to mark their minds where in everytime they see your logo they will remember your product easily. It's not only that, there should be something behind that logo it's not just the design but what is it all about so I salute those graphic artist who made an iconic logos to the industry and they made so far as so good.

My first work as a graphic artist, its kind of annoying because of my superior. She want to mock down my designs as if she's a senior. She's just a marketing manager but she really acting like as if she's the closest friend of our boss even if its not.

I think there’s a lot of joy and inspiration that comes from the continuous improvement that graphic design allows you to have. It’s part of why I enjoy it so much, because there are constantly new ways to expand my skills.

If you count using Canva to come up with something mine was as easy as frying an egg. That was my first graphic design experience, all I did was to change a few aspects of the image by the help of automated software. LOL

I have not quite had any experience in graphic designing yet. The truth is, I'm an indie filmmaker and that pushes you to learn everything for yourself. As time passes, the need to get a prasp on graphic designing is ever growing. I'm positive I'll be having my first experience in graphic designing soon. Hopefully, it'll be fun and rewarding.

I remember being so proud of my first digital painting using a cheap drawing tablet I picked up for $20. It's a landscape picture of a lake and mountains. The shading was purely gradient based like some old school logos from the 2000s. And then I see other people posting works of art on DeviantArt and I get discouraged to even share my work.

It was an awful and not okay kind of design. Of course it was my first time and seems over design with too much things that should not be on that art. It was my first time and I accept how horrible it is.

My first graphics design was kinda cheesy, as I was making a logo-sygil for myself. It was rather a hobby than something serious. I eventually did, after few attempts and with a help of a friend. I tried to create a logo for my family tree. I know it might sound cheesy, but its' for real. I got inspired by GoT.

I give it 3/10. I did it for a company in the US and I hated it, I'm not happy with it, I feel like I could've done more to it. They said it was great and they were happy about it but I hate seeing things that I do because I can never be satisfied with them. I mean I like doing things but I'm not interested in seeing them after making them. I probably don't make sense, whatever. How was you first graphics design experience
