The only source I use is paint where I get to select and resize. I take the trouble to take perfect shots and so I do not need any other help with my photos. I do use the youtube video maker to put together photos, sounds and videos to create videos.

I use paint on the laptop as well to edit the pictures that I want to use for some purposes. It is popular among some graphics designers as well.

Really? I wouldn't consider Paint to be that popular with graphic designers because of how limiting and bad it is. I mean there is very little you can truly do with it especially when you compare it to other photo editing software like Gimp or Adobe Photoshop.

I know, I'm surprised to hear that people use Paint as well. I can't remember the last time I actually used the software, to be honest. I find both Photoshop and Lightroom to be so incredibly powerful, I don't know where I would be with my photography today if I didn't have them at my disposal.

I have both photoshop and lightroom on my computer. But I use photoshop more. However, when I want to do a quick fix, such as color and light correction or adding filter, I use online photo editor such as BeFunky and PicMonkey. Photoshop is powerful, however, sometimes we need easy photo editors.

I've wanted to use adobe photoshop, but have had little progress with it that I gave up. I would be glad if you could explain more on how Gimp can be used.

I didn't have a great experience with Gimp either. I just found it a bit difficult to use, to be honest with you. It's not exactly the easiest interface to use but it does have an extremely large community that can help you out. I'm sure there are loads of YouTube tutorials that will help you get used to Gimp and can teach your various different techniques.

Paint is only meant for those photographers who have already clicked great shots needing no editing excepting resizing and chopping here and there. I have to thank my camera for helping me with my work.

iamawriter,

Well... Although I find Paint to be a very limited tool, I think for some very basic needs (like resize, for example) it can play its part well. But in general, it's not something I would indicate at first. Particularly speaking, I haven't used it in a long time.

Yeah, unless you spend a lot of time with Paint and have the skills for it, but it can't really compare with the editing features that other sophisticated programs allow you to do.

I use paint as well cause I have it on my laptop. But Google photos is enough for me, I try to post my photos as natural as possible. I only edit when needed.

I think that Photoshop and Adobe are very good photo editing software. Photoshop is my favorite, as long as you know how to make use of it effectively and efficiently, it's going to do incredible work for you when it comes to photo editing.

You can use photoshop in editing pictures. If you want to enhance more your photo or images you can use the Adobe lightroom. This is more convenient if you just want to put more effect and appeal on your shots. For example the contrast of the picture looks a little bit lacking then you can adjust the contrast of your picture. If the exposure is very low or you have taken a shot that is darker than any other normal exposure then you can make it more brighter. You will just have to adjust the tools. If you have images that is sharper and pixelated, you can smooth it using the lightroom. It is also available in smartphones. Both photoshop and lightroom are useful, it's either phone or laptop/PC. You can use both gadgets.

I do a vast majority of my editing in Adobe Lightroom. You can get a free version on your phone as well, and it's incredibly powerful compared to other photo editing apps.

I also use VSCO and Instagram to do touchups on photos before I post them, but you don't have near as many options or capabilities with those apps as you do with Adobe's products.

I think I have to check out this Adobe Lightroom app. I hear such good comments about it and somehow I am really curious about it.

I prefer to use Adobe Lightroom for editing. Unlike other traditional photo editing apps that provides variety of built-in filters, you can customize your own preset in lightroom. As if you're just color grading a film, and the outcome always looks good. It will enhance the vibes of the photo while preserving its natural look, without using too much filter that won't suit the lighting of the photo anymore. I also use Snapseed to fix some parts of the photo that needs to be enhanced.

When it is phone-related pictures, I edit them using some apps like 360 degrees picture editor and the rest. It enables me to choose the perfect size of those pictures before uploading them on websites and for clients usage.

I use photoshop. I will have to say this is my favorite photo editing program because I don't know other photo editing programs. I love doing simple editing on photoshop as well as heavy manipulation. Wheather I was to do a quick fix or thorough editing, I use photoshop. When I am not using photoshop, I will be using online photo editor. BeFunky is my favorite online photo editor. I can create an amazing photo with few clicks. This is a free program available as smartphone apps as well as website.

I also make use of photoshop as well for my photo editing functions. It helps me very well in getting my pictures how I desire them. If you have heard about photo grid, I make use of it as well for my other pictures upgrades.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I have not used photogrid. Sometimes when I just want to reduce the file size, crop the photo or adjust light and color, I use Microsoft photo editor. This is not a great editing app, but for a quick fix, it will come handy.

I don't use a photo editing program because I don't really need a photo editing program, I use my phone and its built in photo editing software. However if I need resize a picture for the web, I will use one of the many photo editing websites on the web.

P.S. I hardly take any pictures so thats another reason why I don't have a program like photoshop.

Same here! My phone has the same feature as yours and I honestly don't need any other app. I do take a lot of pictures but I very rarely edit them at all and if I do, I tend to send them to my email so I can do it easily on the computer. I feel more comfortable editing pictures like that since it gives you better control.

Honestly, I can't see a better alternative to this kind of work than Photoshop. In my opinion, it's the most complete tool available in the market nowadays. If you know how to explore all the features that it gives you, it's very unlikely that you choose another option.

Of course there are other very good and interesting alternatives out there, but none that can beat the Photoshop excellence.

Glad that photoshop is now available handy on our phones, right? What are your favorite Photo Editing Apps?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yes, but I'd prefer using the pc for photoshop because it is easier to manage images and there is a lot more options when it comes to tweaking

I completely agree with you on this, Photoshop happens to be the best photo editing software because it comes with more complete package. Other softwares exist but Photoshop tops all of them by miles. If you compare editing done with Photoshop and other photo editing software, it would be very obvious that photoshop is the best there is, best there was and the best there ever will be in photo editing software.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I agree, ever since Photoshop was introduced, it has been my go-to for any editing work, be it a simple or complex one. It's on a different level than the other software available today.

I'm fine with snapseed. I don't do heavy editing for my pictures. I sometimes adjust filters and size. Just light editing for me.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

treecko142
Yeah, at the end of the day, it still matters how much editing you want to achieve. As long as the program achieves your intended effects for your photos, you don't have to spend on the more sophisticated programs. I use Snapseed as well on my tablet and it's quite good.

I use Snapseed and even camera 360 has great effects (I'm not talking about editing a selfie).

Since you're asking about phone specific apps, I have to admit that I don't really use any special apps at all. My phone has a really good inbuilt software that allows you to edit the pictures right after taking them. You can do so many things such as rotate the picture, change its attributes, add different effects and more. I really don't see any point in having other apps on my phone because that software already covers everything.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

mdbree17
I agree with you. Most high-end phones have effects options already and other tools to edit photos which by means no need for editing apps.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

kammy143
I see the beauty of the phone tools and apps offered now in the market. The thing is, it somewhat limits you to a certain point. It's good to use phone tools and apps when you are looking for instant results and not looking for a specific result, otherwise, editing softwares is a necessity if you want specific results.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

kammy143
I personally use and prefer photoshop compared to any other photo editing softwares. One can easily edit and manipulate how a picture looks. There are a lot of apps offered on android which a also does justice when editing photos but it is quite limited. That is why I love, love using PS.

My favourite as to be Canva I use this daily to create images for blog posts to banner titles and also editing images for Instagram. I have never tried photoshop so I might try looking into this.

When you say app, do you mean applications that are available on your phone or just computer applications in general?

If you're referring to phone applications then I can safely say that there isn't a single app out there that I care about, because I feel editing photos on your phone is just a beginner/casual way of adding filters and sprucing up your photos.

If we're referring to computer applications in general, then I would easily have to go with Photoshop. I've been using Photoshop for probably the past 10 years or so, and I'm very familiar with all the ins and outs. It is a professional tool that gives you loads of options, and you're only really limited by your own skill and creativity. That is why it is my favorite application on the market right now, and it will probably remain that way for many years to come.

We have the same point of view. I love pone apps and it rally helped me in spruce up my photos. But, in the end of the day, if I wan't to get specific results I turn to Photoshop.
I am a self taught Photoshop artist. I really love the way it is very flexible when it comes to photo manipulation. I hope to learn more and I will strive to learn more about the software.

I'm glad that we have the same perspective on things! I was afraid of coming off like one of those hardcore Photoshop guys that considers all other means of editing photos to be for "filthy casuals." I realize that learning how to edit in programs like Photoshop isn't for everyone. This became abundantly clear to me when I started teaching beginner's level photo editing skills to friends and family. Needless to say, most of them did not have a great time. That's why filters and apps exist, because complex photo editing just isn't for everyone.

I do always prefer to use Adobe Photoshop for editing photos and making an invitation. I find it easy to use and all the effects and tools that you need, they have them all. You can always make sure that the quality of the photo that you're editing will come up as natural as possible. They are the leading Photo Editing Software in this type of industry and I don't think that there is better software that we can use aside Adobe Photoshop.

Same here, I love the way Photoshop is designed to cater almost all of my needs in making photo effects. I also find it easier to use. I am self taught when it comes to the different editing softwares I use, and by far Photoshop is the most comfortable software I have ever used.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Indeed. I'm not familiar with other photo editing software since whenever I need to edit my photo, I always use Photoshop. Is there any software that is better than Photoshop with more special effects on it? I doubt there's one. I've seen most of the photo shops are using Photoshop as well. Photoshop will always dominate the photo editor industry for me.

I like the way photoshop helps me in getting the results I wanted. I find it very flexible in a way that it is easy for me to use and it gives out that professional look that I want. Corel is great to, but I find it too complicated compared to photoshop.

Mine too, Photoshop would probably be enough for photo filters and for other effects as well. Like you would just open the picture files and then you're good to go. But of course, I do use the Lightroom too, for me it's the most advance software in terms of editing photos.

My favorite photo editing app is PhotoGrid. It has more options for editing photos and I can also create a video song where my pictures will be shown as slideshow. You can choose to filter your pictures, add emoticons, crop, cut and even adding a text of your choice.

I think you really have to consider Photoshop that many are using. In as much as I've not had great progress with learning how to use the software to edit photos on my laptop, I think it is a great asset to those designers and photo editors that are already using them to edit pictures on computer systems.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I think I have to explore more. I am very much interested in finding out what lightroom and photogrid could offer.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I have this PhotoGrid application in my android device but I'm yet to make use of it with any of my photo editing tasks. I'm thinking that it's more of photo merge application where one can put in several number of photos in a frame and save it to be one picture.

my favorite photo editing app is Photoshop . So what is PHOTOSHOP? Photoshop has vast support for graphic file formats but also uses its own
PSD
and
PSB
file formats which support all the aforementioned features. In addition to raster graphics, it has limited abilities to edit or render text, vector graphics (especially through clipping path), 3D graphics and video. Photoshop's feature set can be expanded by Photoshop plug-ins, programs developed and distributed independently of Photoshop that can run inside it and offer new or enhanced features according to Wikipedia. In my own Experience Photoshop provides my needs when im going to edit any photos, i can manipulate easy because it does not require user to become educated before you can use it. Photoshop can change background, enhanced color, manipulate images, design for banners, and you choice your own filter by your own preference.

Amen, I am a strong believer that Photoshop is really user friendly. Just like you I have the same view point when it comes to this software. In fact, I have made extra income by simple tweaking of photos using photoshop.
