What software gives you the most trouble?

For some reason, whenever I use Illustrator I always have random issues that seem to appear out of nowhere. From random errors with photo placement to challenges reducing the file size, I somehow encounter every problem that one could ever have. The best part is that they always seem to happen when I'm on a tight deadline and don't have the extra time to deal with the issues.

What software do you have the most problems with and how do you troubleshoot problems?

I am having problems with my Photoshop. Well it is not that it is malfunctioning or anything, it is just that it is an older version and a lot of features that I have been comfortable to use are missing. I thought I have my back-up installer in my external hard drive but I did not double checked before reformatting my laptop. Turns out I have an installer of a lower version. Well I just make do with what I have for now.

That's unfortunate, well you'll have the better version sooner.

Yes, sometimes it's giving me an error with my Photoshop but I figured it out when I search it on Youtube.

Same ver. of photoshop as her? How did you fix it?

I was forced to use the Cs3 version. What did you do? Is there a way to make this better other than installing the newer version?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

You actually remind me of a time when. I tried to install an older Photoshop version and it refused.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

That must be very disappointing. Well, there could be problems because it's an older version of Photoshop.

Adobe Premiere Pro CC for me. It lags a lot and considering my laptop which is an i3 and running on a Windows 8, I always get stressed out especially if I am editing a video project for school. However, what I do is the classic - to shut down and then turn it on again until it works fine. Although, when it totally crashes, I try to calm down because I might just punch my screen because I hate losing my edits.

Adobe Premiere Pro CC for me. It lags a lot and considering my laptop which is an i3 and running on a Windows 8.

This is the same software that gives me a headache. Also, my laptop is a corei3, and I am using windows 8, forcing me to shut it down and restart when I have issues until it runs smoothly.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

nrnlss
Well I might try that, because when it lags I sometimes just stare at the screen and wait until it's ok again.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Same and it does not only give me a headache, but a High Blood Pressure as well. Whenever my software crashes, I always make sure to breath heavily and get distant from my laptop because there is really a tendency that I might just punch it with my fist, considering my temper which is very low. Adobe Premiere Pro CC is actually the best for me and I guess I should blame my PC more, but I think my software is also at fault lol.

Honestly, there were times that you are so frustrated that you want to throw your laptop away, then you remember you are broke and your laptop is equivalent to your workplace.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Alymae
Haha. I can totally relate to you. There are times that I want to smash my laptop because of my frustration but I remember I don't have any money to buy a new one. If this happens, I do breathing exercises and just do shadow boxing to release my anger. Strenuous exercises help too.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yes, I experienced that one before as well, what I can suggest to you is to upgrade your laptop hardware.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I have that issue too, my window is the latest version but it still lags and it annoys me so much.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

jaybee19
Oh, I'm sorry to hear that mate. It's such a bummer to have an updated version of Windows and then the same problems still occur. I don't know if I would be able to suppress my anger and frustration if that happens to me. On the other hand, I guess the problem occurs because of your processor because if you're device is running Core i3 processor, it will really affect the performance of your device (but I'm not a professional about this topic, I am just basing my assumptions from my experiences).

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

nrnlss
Oh really? I will check it out. Thank you for this information.

Yes, same here, but I have a better solution to your concern, try to update your hardware and reformat your computer.

Adobe programs uses a lot of memory that's why it lags and even hangs often when used on limited RAM. It's best used on computers or laptops with 16GB - 32GB RAM.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

jaybee19
True. Adobe programs are totally ROM eaters and it's always not recommended to use them with devices running with small ROM and RAM. The laptop I'm using actually has an ROM of 500GB and a 4GB RAM and so I guess, basing from your statement, my RAM is totally not suitable for those types of programs.

Yes, I agree with you, especially the editing video software, you must have a high-end PC just for it to run smooth.

Its so dissapointing how great apps can't solve lag issues. Its really a headache especially when you only have limited time and you need to meet a deadline.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I agree with you, it is frustrating when it happen.

I totally get where you're coming from. It took Premiere Pro EIGHT HOURS to export a video. I thought I was going to lose my mind because I was working on a last minute deadline (not my fault my client literally told me about the project 24 hours before it needed to be submitted) and the amount of time it took to export was longer than how long I spend working on the video itself.

As for me, so far so good. At work, programs that I usually use are Notepad, Skype, Word, Excel, and web-based applications. Never experienced any trouble whatsoever. Maybe I'm just lucky at the time as I have the updated versions of it right now, I wonder what could happen if I do upgrade.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

It is necessary for us to always update our software since this is the only way that we can ensure that we are doing the right things. This is something that will always solve all manner of bugs that you may be experiencing with those stuffs as well.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

NerdIndeed
That is why I always check and make it a point to use the most updated version of a program or an app. Having software fail on you is like money down the drain, you become unproductive, and your employer would not be impressed.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Alymae
True. Software should be up-to-date. When you use an older version it logs. Also, it is best to stay updated for better features, although, not all the time. Sometimes, there are new updates that I don't like and still, prefer the older version.

Likewise, I've never encountered any problems on mine. I do use my laptop regularly. There was a post here about Excel crashing a lot, and a friend of mine experiences the same problem. I'm guessing even your Excel works perfectly well for you.

I'd say Microsoft Edge. Their so-called 'new browser' and replacement for internet explorer. I can't get it to run as fast as google chrome does. It loads pages a bit too slow for my liking.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

vinaya
I use Microsoft Edge as an alternate browser and this browser also gives me the same problem. Compared to firefox and chrome, edge is really slow. It seems to take forever to open the browser and load the site.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Judas2018
Tell me about it. It's superior to Internet Explorer in my opinion in looks and appearance. But usability is awful.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I started using internet through internet explorer. When I discovered firefox, I left internet explorer. I did try other browsers like chrome, safari, opera etc. however, for me firefox tirned out to be the best. Firefox is my main browser. use chrome and microsoft edge as the alternative browsers. Edge has a better look, it is even better than internet explorer, however, a poor performer compared to forefox or even chrome.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

We have the same problem. Well, I use it rarely, but when I do what I hate about it is its being slow.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

vinaya
Looks like most of us have the same problem with Edge. I though Edge loads slow because of my internet connection or just because I also have many tabs open simultaneously on other browsers. based on our experience, I guess edge is actually slow.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

nrnlss
The logo of it is like internet explorer and it definitely works like one too.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Judas2018
Internet Explorer I think is faster than edge only because it loads pages smoother. The problem with Edge is it has been stuffed with more coding junk than IE. So while it's more efficient cosmetically, it tries to do too much unnecessary stuff and the end result is frustratingly slow speeds.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

amelia88
That's part of the reason why I ended up downloading Chrome - because Edge was just too laggy. Didn't matter what I tried to do, it just didn't perform as well as chrome does.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

No browser has figured out the Chrome riddle yet. It'll probably stay that way for the foreseeable future.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I seldom use the Microsoft Edge. I think when it comes to browsers Chrome still beats it in many ways. I wonder why Microsoft fails to improve it when they have every resource to do so.

I don't experience much trouble than the others. Except when I use some applications that I rarely use like Microsoft Edge.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Right! I don't have trouble with other apps on my computer but I also don't like using MS Edge. Even if I am using Windows, Google Chrome performs better than Edge.

The new Excel, it seems that everytime I get comfortable to excel, it's time to upgrade again. Whenever I get the new office, I need to get used to it all over again. That's why if it ain't broken, don't fix it.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I haven’t used excel in quite a while but I’m guessing that it must just be some bug in the new version. I never recall having any issues with it previously.

I don't' really experience any issue or trouble using some software and applications. Everything is working fine. Browsers, Dropbox, Skype, and my office apps are not giving me any a headache. But it is my device that gives me an issue. It works to slow every time I charge it. It seems like I cannot work while charging my laptop. Can somebody give me the reason why it happens? I will appreciate your opinion.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Judas2018
It's a general rule that you shouldn't use any mobile devices while they're charging. It forces them to try and perform too many operations at once, and could end up causing long term damage.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

superlicca
I did not know that because some people say that it is fine to use a laptop while charging. I am thinking if it has something to do with the fact that I am just using an Intel Celeron laptop.

Lately I had a problem with a game emulator. Every time it tries to load the game, it'll stock up. I tried troubleshooting and reinstalling but no use. Then I try a different software until I find the one that works perfectly for me. Sometimes you just have to replace the software with another which works best for you instead of keeping the original one.

Thankfully Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator have always served me quite well. I think Adobe has done a fantastic job of refining their software and making it easy to fix random errors and bugs.

That being said, as much as I love Adobe, their program After Effects has been a real pain in my toches sometimes. While the issues are usually remedied quite easily, it’s definitely the program that gives me the most trouble. There's always some sort of issue with RAM or audio drivers, which as I mentioned is usually remedied easily, but ultimately ends up slowing down my work.

I have no problem in the softwares in my laptop. Maybe the problem you are experiencing was caused by so much unnecessary activities of your computer. You can check it out on the control panel of your pc or you could also defrag your disc which may fix the issue.

I guess there is no software that gives me a lot of trouble so far, only our Wifi connection always keeps giving me a trouble lol.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ajahcuizon
Hahaha sometimes the Wifi connection is really the cause of the most problems of our applications. Especially when we are doing a project online, there's a mere possibility of making a loss of it if the wifi connection is not that good.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

The software that gave me problem is Photoshop. One time, while I am doing a project, it suddenly stopped working and then forced to stop. I restarted the application only to find out that everything that I did was gone. It was not saved. I was so mad that time as I have spent so much time doing it.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

That must've been frustrating! I encountered the same problem many times. When I sought professional help, I was told that nothing is wrong with the software. The problem lies with my P.C. because it is running out of memory. But a little freeing up of the hardware fixed that in no time.

Any windows 10 users here? Have you guys updated last October where the update allegedly deletes some personal files from your computer?

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
Yes, I'm here. I updated to windows 10 almost immediately it was released but it's something that I have regretted since because there are lots of trouble with the version of windows software.

There is no doubt about the software giving good layouts and design to the computer but it still have so many loophole that needs to be addressed.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Have you noticed if your update did really delete some personal files in your drives C and or D? A lot of people are complaining that the update delete some of their files. I think I did too, but I couldn't be sure.

Sometimes Premiere Pro and Photoshop gives me trouble. The files from these software were kind of larger than normal so the software can't manipulate faster and it it slowly running that makes me hard to control tools sometimes as it was really lag.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
You can very well forget about easy manipulating of Photoshop because you can't have it easily done. I think that the software was never designed to be easily manipulated unless you are far more experienced with using the software for any task that you are up for. At the moment, I'm looking for simpler softwares to use because Photoshop is very difficult.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
Using Photoshop has never been an easy task. If you have to see so many challenges with it before getting even a simple task completed.

I wish the software would be designed to be very easy to use for any task at all. Some people are experienced with Photoshop but I'm not yet.

I don't ever really have a ton of problems with computer software, apart from things sometimes running slow. I will say though that iOS for my iPhone always makes me want to hit things. If I'm slow with updating it whenever they do a new release, it's like my phone punishes me by acting like an absolute piece of junk until I go and run the update.

I feel your frustration. You know that feeling when something is not working properly, that's the moment when you feel like the time is running either slowly of fastly. It's so annoying.

I have a hard time learning Photoshop, so I just usually use Paint.
Photoshop is extremely hard, the trial version is a lot more basic, but let's be honest the full one contains the best material available.
I end up using online services for such tasks suitable to Photoshop, or simply ask a friend. What software gives you the most trouble?

I've been using Premiere Pro CC 2017 for several months and save for a couple of typical bugs that have been solved fast, I haven't found any flaws. I have edited videos of 4 and 5 minutes, full HD, moving from slow camera to fast camera, correction of color, several tracks of video, edition in multicamera, etc. Everything has worked more or less perfectly. Well, a couple of days ago I was making a small video using two pictures in JPG and a logo in PNG. My intention was to zoom-out the picture and to have the logo appear later. Something simple. Then the problem appeared: I tried with a thousand different pictures and the issue remains the same: black screen and then the program closes itself.

Hi. Begin by way of restarting the laptop. If that doesn't work, take a look at if it has the latest update. In any other case, typically deleting the preferences file you could google in which it is placed to find it will help you. Difficult to tell what is wrong without a crash log.

Adobe premier pro cc 2018 for me. I think the added functions just made the software that more demanding of computers on which it is installed. I ran it on an i7 mac and still had momens where it lagged. I'll have to find my way back to the 2017 version. It worked just perfectly for me.

Upon reading this question, I immediately thought: "All Adobe softwares!". Kidding aside, Adobe softwares tend to be really heavy, and when my old laptop acts up, lags and crashes are inevitable. I also tend to get all sorts of errors in my editing softwares, specifically Illustrator. Meanwhile, Photoshop and After Effects are most prone to crashes.

Gosh thats the worst thing that can happened and realised that you don't have enough time to finish it because of the deadline given. In my case, I have no problem in any of my software, video and photo editing software, mostly adobe products, my problem is my computer, it's so slow that I can't do after effects and I also can't edit big files on my GoPro because it is in 4k and editing those in Adobe Premiere using my computer takes years, I'm just exaggerating but that's how I feel. I badly want to have a new PC.
