What mobile device have the best front camera for selfie picture

Good day to all pixelclerks members.

I would like to know your thoughts/opinions on the best mobile phone with the best front camera for taking selfie pictures.

I make use of Samsung Galaxy J7, it's a good product but I have reasons to believe that there are other phones with better front cameras for better selfie pictures.

I think Oppo phones are pretty decent. Considering its price, the features it offer are pretty good. There are a lot of medium range budget phones nowadays that are pretty good.

I haven't used any OPPO phones since it was produced but in honesty, I have heard about it on more than one occasion online. The only reason I can attribute to not having looked at getting an OPPO phone is because the phone product is not trending in my country, it's more of Samsung, Infinix, Tecno, Lenovo, Itel, and iPhone that are most sold and used here. I'm not even sure if any OPPO device have entered our phone market.

I do not any experience with Oppo phone, however, two of my family members use Oppo phone. Compared to my samsung, I don't find Oppo better, however, based on the pricing, I think Oppo phones are not very bad. Oppo also takes a great selfie.
I have not used Vivo, however, they say it is a great selfie camera phone.

I agree with you. Samsung phones are incomparable. They're very good in terms of camera performance and is also very durable. With regards to Vivo, I've used one before because my friend owns one and based on that experience, their selfie camera is good and is a bit similar to Oppo.

I agree that Samsung's performance is very good, but with it's price range, it's a kind of phone that you have to save up before you can purchase it. Oppo and Vivo is a lot more attainable cost wise.

Until recently, Samsung was the untimate choice for Android devices, however, when new brands came into the marketer with same feature but for a lower price, samsung began to lose market share. In there is not better subtitute for Sansung in the Android market, however, if you compare the brabds based on the fature available and the cost price, there are better options. These days Oppo and Vivo are making headlines.

Really? Do you live in the UK? (If it's okay to ask). Oppo is not yet popular there tho because they don't have retail stores in there yet. Here in my country which is a part of South East Asia, Oppo is one of the most popular smartphone brands. It's also popular across Asia and I believe it also gained a good status on the US but I'm not very sure.

I agree with you. I'm using an Oppo smartphone and its selfie camera is pretty decent compared to other smartphones' selfie cameras. On the other hand, there's a new smartphone brand called Honor, a sister company of Huawei, and they have a smartphone called Honor 9 Lite. It has 4 cameras, 2 at the back and 2 at the front. I believe it has one of the best selfie cameras in the smartphone market right now because of its two cameras at the front.

I agree with you. Here in the Philppines, Oppo and Honor (& Huawei) are smartphones with best camera, No offense to iPhone users, camer of Oppo an Honor are better than iPhone. Oppo uses "camera phone" tagline and I think they can justify that.

I agree with you. In mu opinion Oppo phones are pretty good. I am using one right now and I am satisfied with it. My husband, cousin, and aunt also usea Oppo phones. They are also satisfied with the phones performance. The camera is good as well. As the brand's tag line says "The selfie expert", I think the phone justify it.

I see! What I can be able to pick out from your statement is that you and your family are OPPO brand lovers which makes almost everyone in the family favor the product. And it's obvious that it have satisfied every need you would want from a phone because it's obvious that you aren't looking for any replacement sooner or later.

I agree with you. Most of my friends have their Opportunity phones. When I ask them why, they always say that it's because of the selfie camera, which I think is very true since I have tried taking selfies using their phones many times. Well, I have to delete them right away because it's a burden for their phone's memory, lol.

I'm actually not all that familiar with mobile phones since they're not my thing, but I did a quick Google search to find the top phones with the highest resolution front cameras. From a website called Android Authority, the Android phones with the best front facing cameras are the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro, sporting 8MP cameras. After doing some more research, it would seem that most high-end smart phones these days top off at 8MP for the front facing camera, so you're not going to get much better than that.

I personally just flip around the LCD panel on my DSLR for those tasty 18MP selfies, haha.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Barida
Having a mobile device that has 18mp is really nice as we can get to see that the better the megapixel, the nicer the images that you take with them is going to look. So, I should check if there is a Tecno mobile device that can sport this kind of huge mp so that I can take pictures as much as I want.

@Denis
I am not very passionate about taking selfie, therefore, I don't care about the front camera. I use the front camera on the phone just for video calling.
However, I do care about the rear end camera on the phone. I am very passionate about taking photos and I cannot carry my DSLR every where I go, thus cellphone camera always comes handy. I hear that Vivo has 12 MP front camera. I have not used this hand set though.

Thanks so much for this little research into the topic and coming up with a good recommendation for those that prefer using mobile devices for selfie pictures and other snapping purposes. If the front camera is that good, then I believe that the back camara will equally be good as well even more than the front camera.

I will keep Huawei P20 and P20 Pro, sporting 8MP cameras in mind any time I want to purchase any product based on its pictures quality in selfie sapping.

I am also not familiar of mobile phones and the megapixels of their camera but what I am using right now is a Note 5. I know it is already old and several models of Note have been released but I think my front cam is good and produces clear photos. If my old Note can do this, then the newer models can do much better.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
As long as your Note 5 is still in a good shape, and you have no immediate need for a better device for picture purposes, I don't see any reason to worry about replacing it since it serves you adequately. One of my cousins still makes use of Note 5 and he still very much enjoy it in all features.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I am making use of the Tecno K7 mobile brand and I have strong reasons to believe that it is one of the best that you can get out here. One thing that I like about my mobile device is that I can use it to take pictures even in the night and it always look nice and clear unlike the previous device that I was using. So, getting this brand is great for anybody looking for a mobile device to take pictures.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Tecno products seems to be improving on their products specifications lately. I have used Tecno Camon 9 some years ago and it was actually a good device. It was actually the first mobile device that I have used that had eye lock security authentication. It's camera pixel was around 16 Megapixel.

I'm a Samsung guy and the Samsung Galaxy S9 has a great front-facing camera, and has all-around great features. Probably not the most cost-effective if you're only looking for a good front camera, but it's worth its value overall.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Kakashi2020
I have to agree that Samsung S7,8,9 and the Note series has clear selfie front cameras and a very good back cameras. In my opinion since S8 Samsung cams have become better than iPhone cams.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

treecko142
Yeah, although the iPhone cameras aren't too bad themselves, they're just not as good as the Samsung ones, although they try to make up for it by introducing various picture/video features.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
Exactly. There is no doubt about Samsung products being among the best when it comes quality and strong product. The company products hardly develop faults, the only down side of Samsung products is that its spare parts are very expensive especially if you have a broken screen.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ballyhara
Personally, I've had Samsung phones, and they're great phones, but their front camera is not that amazing. Haven't tried Galaxy 8 or 9 so, maybe they should have better quality one. However, I've checked Huawei and Sony Experia ones, and those take really great shots. Pictures have great definition and quality, especially for selfies. I'm not a fan of selfies, but if you do, you should try to check these phones, you will like them for sure.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
Exactly. Samsung is a great product there is no doubt about it but when it comes to front camera, they are not so good because as I make use of such product already, I have seen its front camera pictures compared to some other photos snapped with other phones, it is still behind the best in that field.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Oppo and Vivo are good brands in my opinion. The two has great resolutions and really delivers well when it comes to picture quality.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Vivo isn't that much good in my opinion because I have seen someone using the product, it's not that fantastic when it comes to taking pictures or some other features in the phone. But as for OPPO phones, I have seen lots of good reviews about the device, it's such a shame that the product isn't available in our phone market.

Yup. We've all been seeing Stephen Curry with his Vivo selfie camera commercials. That's what their phones are advertised for. However, I haven't watched any YouTube or blog reviews about them yet since I'm not I'm not shopping for a new phone.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I haven't seen that Stephen Curry with his Vivo selfie camera commercials, how do I get to watch that said commercials? Although, if I'm being honest, I don't believe everything I see on an advert commercial unless I see someone using it and get him or her opinion on how good the product is.

For me, Oppo front camera are the best. If you are looking for the best selfie, try using it. I never had any regrets purchasing oppo phones just for selfies. But because you said in one of the comments above that oppo phones are not trending in your country? That's the reason? But ok you still aren't sure if the product have entered in your phone market yet.
I have tried Samsung, but still nothing beats oppo in terms of selfies. Just an opinion from me sir.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Exactly. You are very correct with the assertion that our market haven't seen any OPPO phone products so far. With all the assessments I have read online about how good the product is when it comes to camera and image quality, it seems to be the best bet. Hopefully, the product will arrive in our phone gadget market sooner than later.

Personally, the best yet is Samsung Galaxy S9 because it has low aperture of f/1.7 and low aperture means better and clearer photos on low lighting conditions and that's what would be the best front camera should have. I am really looking forward to Samsung's future phones even if it's pricey it really has top of the line specs and solid build. I really hope that Samsung would create a smartphone with both front and rear camera having the technology of what it's rear camera can do alone like the changing aperture depending on photo capturing conditions.

I have seen the advertisement of that particular Samsung Galaxy S9 on my favorite TV channel Supersport in this on going Russia 2018 world cup. The phone looks great but I'm still kind of attached to this my current Samsung Galaxy J7. Maybe when I'm in the need to change the device, then I might upgrade to the new Samsung Galaxy S9.

I'm using a Cloudfone Next Infinity Quattro which has a 13/8 rear 20/8 front, quadcam with dual flash. It has a 6" screen and takes really great photos and the price is quite reasonable too.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
Wow, the specifications of Cloudfone Next Infinity Quattro looks pretty amazing. How much do you say it's cost is at? If it's that affordable for such specifications, and if it's other specifications like in battery and RAM are good enough, then I would consider purchasing the device when I want to get another replacement.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

It only cost around $215 converted to from my currency. It's really a good deal since alot of phones which has lower specs are much more expensive than the Infinity Quattro.

I have tried the Oppo one as well as Vivo. I think these brands are good when it comes to capturing selfies. When it comes to apple and samsung, there are more good capturing at back camera I guess.

Didn't know about Oppo cell phones until now, at least we don't have them here. We have Samsung, Sony, Apple, LG, Huawei, Blue, but not Oppo. Where are they from? Are they good ones? Do they use Android or IOS? I'm looking for a new cell phone, and based on the comments there, they seem like really good an affordable.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I really don't have any idea actually where it is originated or what specific countries it is available but it is kind of popular here in Philippines. Oppo uses android and yes it's more affordable than of those of apple, samsung and others.

From what I heard and know now, OPPO device are exceptionally good with taking pictures and selfie. It's such a shame that we don't have the products here in my country but definitely I'm sure it's going to enter our market because of how good it is with taking pictures. You know how girls are with taking pictures, it's definitely going to sell well once it comes here.

When it comes to selfie camera power i think Vivo is one of the highest specification with 24 megapixel resolution with LED. I don't have that phone but when you look reviews about selfie cameras , Vivo is among the highest among the top brands.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
Wow! Are you kidding me when you say that Vivo phones come with 24 megapixel front camera? If that happens to be the case, then there is no doubt that it's the very best for getting the best selfie pictures. The ones that I have seen so far all stopped at 18 megapixel front camara, so with Vivio at 24 megapixel, it's the best.

I think.the newest Google smartphone has the best selfie camera, the Google Pixel 2XL is considered to have the very best selfie cameras nowadays it's also very expensive at $800.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
Wow, the price of this Google Pixel 2XL at $800 is very expensive. It's even more expensive than iPhone products that are considered to be among the best mobile devices with high camera pixel quality. I'm sure that I can't afford purchasing this Google Pixel 2XL at the moment but should it drop in cost, then I would consider buying it.

I am a hardcore fan of Samsung, so of course, I will recommend them to you. I've had many Samsung phones and I was pleased with each and everyone one. But I'd also recommend you to try Oppo, I have not personally used one but, my friends are very satisfied with their Oppo phones, and their selfies are great so, I think it's worth a shot!

After my few run in with using Tecno and Infinix devices, I decided to give Samsung products a trial as well and I was completely impressed and satisfied with what the company products offered me in terms of product quality and intense features. This is actually why I am still making use of Samsung Galaxy product at the moment.

I am more than happy to know that I have some fellow Samsung mobile phone users here. Yes, I agree. Samsung phone's camera quality in capturing and producing an image is very amazing for it will enhance the feature of the object but it does not totally make it very different from reality or from the real one.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Which of the Samsung device are you using? The one that I have on my mind is pretty expensive and that was the reason I had to go for tecno Android. This doesn't mean that when I see a nice Samsung that has got nice specs at a cheaper price, that I won't buy it.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
There is no doubt that Samsung products are good all in with all its features. I think that the company is more concerned with producing stable, quality, reliable and efficient products that would make the products rank as number one among it's competitors.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Kakashi2020
Samsung's S9 has one of the best cameras for selfies, it's so clear and it's tools for enhancements are really effective. I think it's the second best beating iPhone X.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Samsung has been known for making good phones that has got better specs, just that the cost of their devices is one that is not that easy to purchase from the market. I am using a tecno mobile and the camera is super bright as well.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
I think that Samsung S9 is the latest brand of the company's phones products. So, it's most likely supposed to be very good with both selfie and rear cameras picture quality.

I have seen several advertisements of the Samsung galaxy S9 most especially during the Russia 2018 world cup, I think that the company paid heavily to put the phone advert in the world cup match in order to have a wider audience reach.

Nothing beats Google Pixel 2xl also the latest iPhone and Samsung Galaxy and Note, all the other brands are below these three.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

From what I have read on several articles about Google Pixel 2XL, it's cost is around $800 USD. Seriously, it's very expensive if I'm to be frank with my opinion on the phone.

I saw Tecno Camon CX yesterday and it comes with 24 megapixel front selfie camera. I believe that it's a good one.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Kakashi2020
The Apple iPhone X beats all the other brands and models when it comes to the quality of selfies that it's front cams can offer. It has a 7mp front cam but as everyone knows when it comes to apple devices a 7mp on an iPhone easily beats a 15 mp of another brand.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
Seriously are you kidding with saying that 7 megapixel front camera would give a better and high quality selfie image that Tecno Camon CX that comes with a 24 Megapixel front selfie camera? I found that to be very ridiculous because 7MP vs 24MP seems to have no comparison.

I honestly go for Samsung because it is indeed incomparable among other phones in the market. However, if you are looking for a mid-range budget phones, I can say Xiaomi Redmi is very fine with me. It's camera is clear enough and the lightning is good, too.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

When you are looking for an overall phone quality in every aspect of the device you desire to purchase, Samsung phones would be the best bet because the company's products are ranked higher when it comes to Android devices family. But when you are looking for a specific feature like camera megapixel upgrade, there are better options for you to choose from.

So many new mid range mobile device nowadays. They offers high quality of front camera for taking selfie. The best mobile phone for me with high quality front camera is Huawei nova 3i, it is just launched a week ago and there are many good reviews regarding to its camera.

I have never been one to use Huawei phone products but in all honesty, I have heard a lot of good reviews about the company's devices. It's such a shame that I'm more into Samsung products which is why I have experienced using other good companies products when it comes to mobile devices but sooner rather than later, I will start expanding my brands when it comes to phones.

Any OPPO or VIVO devices are great at taking selfie. The OPPO F7 is a great selfie phone, and so is the VIVO V9. Even though this phones are cheaper than the IPHONES and SAMSUNG, they can definitely hold their own against those monsters with it comes to taking selfies.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Now, I have come to understand that OPPO devices are very good when it comes to taking selfie pictures. I think that the OPPO devices were actually built for pictures purposes because it's camera quality is its biggest and most improved part of the device compared to other specifications it comes with. So, OPPO devices are absolutely recommended for taking selfie pictures.

i Think IPhone X Because i When You Take a Selfie Its Smooth Well i Have 1 And Iphone X is Pretty Good For Recording a Video and i Think Samsung S7 is Good Too Because my Cousin Have 1 and Her and i Take a Picture and I Look Into Picture and I See The Pictures is Good Too.

iPhone X is a great mobile phone but it's very expensive to an average income earner to be able to purchase such heavy tech if I'm permitted to use the word "heavy tech" to describe how impressive and costly iPhone X is in the world today. It's actually the cost of getting a higher grade of iPhone is what's still keeping me from getting one for myself. Currently, I'm budgeting a maximum of $300 to see if it's going to be enough to purchase a good iPhone product for me.

My friend has an Oppo phone and its selfie cam or front cam really makes a good quality of pictures. Also, it enhances the image by putting natural looking filter that creates the picture much better than the original one. As some reviews say, a good camera can make a not so good looking face into a good one. That is why I prefer an Oppo phone if we're talking about selfie cameras.

From all the chatters I have read on several articles online about how good OPPO phone devices are when it comes to being exquisite for taking selfie pictures, so I have come to the conclusion that it's 80% best for taking selfie pictures. I have used HTC for a long time and I cannot say that I have any problems with their cameras. Htc desire 10 pro is actually quite cheap with some high grade features.

Samsung phones have this beauty filter where it blurs your face. You can't turn it off and it's one of the main turnoffs buying a Samsung phone. I could notice if someone took a selfie with a Samsung phone a mile away.
Currently, the Google Pixel 2 has the best front camera in the market right now. This is based from the reviews on Youtube and their sample pictures.

I personally love using the cameras of iPhone. I love how natural the picture is even without editing or using any filters. The only thing that I don't like on it's front camera is that when you take a picture, the result is being mirrored. Nevertheless, I can still use some tools or editing apps to solve the problem. I have used iPhone since 2016. Recently, my husband just got me a new android phone, Zenfone 5. I really love thr quality of the rear camera. I think that it's better than the rear camera of the iPhone. The front camera of Zenfone 5 is pretty good too. You just have to find a good lighting for you to produce a natural looking photo. There are many filters and beauty tools too. But again, when talking about the front camera, I'd still prefer the one from iPhone.

Just like what I have commented to another forum here, the best phone camera for me is the Sony Xperia. All photos were taken, even just a simple selfie, will look classy & seems like done professionally. In my opinion, it's highly recommended to selfie lovers as it was made for photography.

As far as I know, OPPO phones are best for selfies compared to other phones. I also tried that phone from my friend and you'll look more handsome/pretty with it. You can try to check Oppo F3 Plus. It has nice camera specs. You can check the full specs and reviews from the Internet and compare it on the benchmark.

Like almost everyone here, I agree that Oppo really have a great selfie camera. Its front camera has its automatics filters to hides skin imperfections of your face like pimples and scars. Its like having Beauty Plus preinstalled on your camera. Your skin become lighter which I think is also a great feature for a selfie camera. However, its images still gives you that almost natural look into it.

I'm using an Oppo and I don't think it is the best smartphone for selfies. The beauty technology makes the photo seems to be glossy and blurry. I would prefer Samsung and Huawei, as well as iPhone.

TECNO cameras are killers. And recently they started putting more work in their selfies. Some of their latest have up to 16 to 18 megapixels; and that is huge. I promise for TECNO on this one

What mobile device have the best front camera: I only tried to use two kind of mobile brand, the oppo and the samsung one. Base on my experience the samsung has a best front camera compare to oppo mobile. I can really differenciate the difference between the two when I try to take a selfie using the two phone at same time.

I just bought a 2 new Huawei Nova 2 phones and it's got great selfie front cameras, it also has dual front flash ensuring clear selfies. It cost around $175 or PHP 9000 plus attachments.
