I don't have that excitement of pursuing online comics. I prefer going with words and anything that got to do with that too.

Barida,
I also prefer word-driven content, but I would argue that the words in comics and cartoons can be just as fascinating and enlightening as other language content if they are written and developed well. There have been incredible storylines out there for years in comics and graphic novels, and many online comics cover very controversial and important topics which are very relevant to history, past culture, and contemporary culture.

I understand the point you're trying to make and I have to admit that I never looked at it from this direction at the earlier stage. Now, I get it clearer.

Yeah--there is a lot of cool stuff out there, comics-wise, in terms of content. Check out this site just to get a start: http://www.gocomics.com/. There is a lot of variety here and many different classic comics as well, like Calvin and Hobbes, etc. This one in particular made me laugh pretty hard today, but I do have a peculiar sense of humor...

For graphic people such as me... I do prefer contents with pictures in them. I do appreciate books with great content but sometimes I get too overwhelmed with too much words. Sometimes I pick up a novel, read some, get bored and eventually forget about it (not in all instances). Drawings or caricatures do play a big part in visual engaging readers and it also adds to the charm of the given article.

This just goes to show that there is beauty in diversity of reading literature. I prefer words over graphics as well I do enjoy and love comics too! Well mostly Mangas. When it comes to art I am more inclined with the Japanese way of drawing. There is just so much life and fun in them. And their story lines are so epic and out of ordinary.

I only read comics on books or behind pages of certain magazines. I haven't had the excitement too but I think it is because comics is not something that has been on my mind. If I start looking for them frequently especially online, then I will also like them.

I think that if you do like comics and cartoons, then you will certainly find tons of cool and appealing stuff out there online, for free, which you can enjoy, and it is just a click away! You can find comics and cartoons on almost any subject--humor, politics, action/adventure, fantasy, family, sci-fi, etc.--you name it, and it is out there. I hope you find some that you really like!

I did read a few comic book on some hand journals and magazines when I was still a teenager possibly in my secondary school days. In fact during those times we normally sketch our own comic stories and give it a storyline. My favorite piece are specifically on war fiction and I'm really good at it back then. But nowadays, it's all childish stuff for me, so I practically dropped all interest in it.

While I certainly understand where you're coming from, there actually are online comics out there which feature lengthy and compelling dialogue. I've seen many comics from the website XKCD as well as The Oatmeal that feature a lot content revolving around philosophy, psychology, and many other forms of science. They manage to be educational while still being entertaining and funny. Sure they're hit or miss sometimes but they're usually regarded as fairly intellectual web comics.

I don't have any favorite online comics and cartoon strips. I admit that comics and cartoon strips can be very fascinating, however, I never took interest in comics and cartoons. When I was a child my father did not allow to read comics and cartoon strips. He believed these things will stop the creative process in the kids. He brought storybooks. When I did not read comics, I did not know about comics.

Why would comics and cartoons stop the creative process in the children? I think it's the other way around... they let your imagination and creativity flow. But I can completely understand why you aren't extremely interested in them since you didn't know about them for a very long time. It makes sense.

It was what my father thought. You know how parents were back then, they always had once sided view. My father believed, if children are given books with few images, then they would begin to imagine things (characters, locations, actions etc.).

I was never really a comic person either but more because I just never really enjoyed them/bothered to try to like them. My parents never really had any problems with them and I'm surprised that yours did, to be honest. I would have thought that something like comics would actually help with kids creativity and not the other way round.

My father thought story books with some illustrations were better than the comics. One of the reasons why he did not like comics because he believed "there is too much violence."
Since I did not reach comics as a child, I becamse fascinated with comics when I was in teens. I had a friend who was addicted to Indian comics and I found solace in his home. But this fascination did not continue for long, soon I lost interest.

If it were my kid brother, he would give you everything you need to know about online comic or cartoon strips because they are his favorite gigs. Personally, I think I'm too old for cartoon strips, I have more important things to focus on than online comics.

I used to read a few online comics about characters from cartoon shows. Like fan art or something. It looked like more of a spin-off than fan made art. Perhaps that's why I liked reading it.

My favorite online comics are most of the stuff Amigo Comics and Bluewater comics puts out. They continue to create interesting, diverse and powerful new titles and overall stories.

There was a time when I was subscribed to Garfield online comics and obsessively read everyday but since then I haven't really read much online comics. From time to time someone will share with me some strips from cyanide and happiness which is fairly amusing to me, and there was a crime horror comic series that I was introduced to but since the story doesn't end I kind of lost interest in it.

And the Garfield online comics since cool to me, since Garfield is a cool What Are Some Of Your Favorite Online Comics?. But If I would have the chance to read online comics books, I would probably go with the more suspense or horror type of comic books, It might actually takes time doing it but it would probably be worth it.

Comics are always been so amazing and amusing. I always have this love for Manga Comics. I know that this is not particularly an Online Comic and I prefer to read the book itself though than browsing it online. There is always thrill and twists on each events. With the cute sexy characters they have and portray, its so cool how they come up with the unique story line that may be impossible or possible in real world. Exaggerated plots, animated characters and almost-impossible story lines are much exciting than a common, plain series. I just love how they go along together producing a very entertaining prose not for kids only but also for adult. This is also the reason why some adults find comics more appealing than movies.

Like you, I would always prefer to read the hard copy rather than the online version. I also love manga and anime mags and graphic novels. I used to collect them a lot more, but it got so expensive and hard to keep up with that I ended up quitting a few years ago. I do spend time reading them in book and comics stores though when I visit those or when I am shopping. I also like the over-top-plots and outrageous characters, monsters, and villains. I also like your point that this type of genre is good for adults and children simultaneously.

I also prefer to have the physical book and I have trouble concentrating when I'm just reading on a screen. I don't know if it's just because I've grown too used to watching something on a screen that I associate it with that mostly, but whenever I read on a screen I just end up zoning out and before I know it I'm just staring blankly at what I'm supposed to be reading.

I was born in 1972, and I am a completely analog being still, in many ways. I love the tactile and physical quality of a book or comic book or graphic novel. The screen is okay, and I have a Kindle and other reading devices, but I do prefer to get in the bed with a good paperback or hardback book and thumb through the pages and feel the pleasure of "old-school" reading. The screen does have a quality to make you zone out or phase out--I do agree with you there. Still, though, the convenience of accessing media and materials online is pretty awesome, and there is a ton of awesome stuff out there that's just a few clicks away.

Wow. It's nice to know that Manga is also popular in your country. I like to read Manga because most animes are discontinued and my only hope for the story's conclusion is to read the manga itself.

Some Mangas are deeper than actual books. There are also plot twists that you will not see in Western books and films. Some adults are saying that Mangas and animes are for kids. What they don't know is that there are genres that are targeted to adults also. What Are Some Of Your Favorite Online Comics?

I also love to read manga especially when I have watched the anime and can't wait for the current episodes to be released. The art style is very good and they have been a big part of my childhood.

I like to read some manga too, and I prefer those with an anime version today because there are a lot of other scenes and stories in the manga which isn't include in the anime version. And I like how they mangaka (Japanese artist) draw their characters. I am reading Hunter x Hunter and Boruto today. Actually I have a long list but these two are my top favorite.

Also, I like reading these other two kinds of Manga version from the other countries: Manhwa which is a comics from Korea and Manhua which is also a comic from China. Their stories are great too, and also the characters designs. They have similarities with the Manga but both Manwha(s) and Manhua(s) are mostly colorful than the Manga.

I don't really read too many online comics but I have quite some collections of the normal ones in my drawer. I occasionally flip through them just for the nostalgic reasons. Anyway, the one that I have been reading recently is called Kevin & Kell. It's quite funny, great drawing and it will keep you entertained for a very long time. I'd recommend you check it out What Are Some Of Your Favorite Online Comics?

Kevin and Kell, eh? I will definitely check that out. I need some more humor in my life--I think that we all do to keep perspective. Actually, I just checked out Kevin and Kell and read a few strips. This is cool, and I will most likely go back to this one again, so thanks for the suggestion. I also found a really funny "meme" site--it does not really count as a cartoon, I guess--see what you think about this: http://marriedtothesea.com/

I haven't read a webcomic for quite a few years now. I remember there was one that I read when I was quite young and I spent quite a while trying to find it now so that I could share it with you guys but I just could not remember the name and I couldn't find any mention of it online either. If you are looking for webcomics, there are a few lists available that give you a variety of options.

I've been a fan of comics since I was a kid, in fact, my mom says that was one of the reasons why I learned how to read. So, my comics were the classic ones, like Nancy, Garfield, Peanuts. Also, I'm from South America so I was a huge fan of Chile's Condorito, and Argentina's Mafalda. I used to have all the books and newspapers with them. Right now, honestly, I don't check them online, because we still can find some of them on paper, but for sure I do love comics.

I'm part of that era of comics. Well, I'm pertaining to the physical magazine comics. I was exposed at first on Superman and Spidey during my early years. But eventually, I got hooked up and really loved X-Men.

For online comics, I'ts not my type. I prefer the ones I can hold on to and collect till I grow weary with white hair. I will give my comics' collection to my grandkids so they would enjoy more as I did as a kid.

I totally fell in love with X-Men. As a nerd and a bit of an outcast growing up, I identified with the X-Men and their themes of being different and strange. Growing up in the eighties was hard if you were "different", and I think that our culture, at least here in the United States, is becoming a bit more tolerant of people who are unique and different. I like hard copies of the comics as well, but I do suggest that you explore the online comics world too because of its easily access.

My favorite comic book characters were always Spiderman and Batman. The depth and wide range of villains both characters had made for great reading experiences.

Judas2018,
Those are both two comics which I was also very much in love with as a kid, Different parts of me could relate to those characters in different ways. I have some friends who are comic book "purists", and so they would only read either Marvel comics or only DC comics. I was never like that--if a storyline or character interested me, and the writing and art was good, I would explore the comic.

I grew up reading DC comics and I always imagined myself being one of these superheroes. It's nice to have good Marvel movies nowadays as they have made me more familiar with their own heroes.

I used to collect X-Books when I was in highschool got the whole X-Factor, X-calibur, X-Men and New Mutants from ep 1 and some great episodes of Uncanny X-Men too. But there's this comic back then, made me laugh alot and it's now available in digital form it's Groo the Wanderer by Sergio Aragones.

I think the most popular comics in our class in the 80's is Archie and Veronica comics. I think that there are too many versions of it which are titled according to the characters. It was the very first comic book I have ever read and took an interest in when I was in elementary school.

Wow--I have not thought about these comics in years! I remember seeing these lying around my grandfather's barber shop, and they were always pretty popular, in hard copy, with people of all ages. I have never read or perused Archie comics online, though, but now that you have mentioned them, I think I might revisit these, especially if they are only a click away. These are pretty nostalgic for me.
