Yes,to really capture the eyes of the public, the. Posters should be boldly done and really colorful too. Posters can really be helpful in the rural areas that lack the internet connection to connect to the internet.

Definitely, even with the number of people online they are still more people offline that are yet to even use the internet. So posters will help create the needed awareness for the public offline. I still see posters out here in my region and I don't even need to come online before seeing it.

Barida
This is true and the thing is that even some people that are online won't have time to be checking some information which they can get juts by reading posters on the street.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Enyi
That's the whole essence of having posters in the street. Anyone can access them especially areas offline that can be termed as business area.

To be honest, I don't think so. People don't bother to raise their head from their phone to observe the local surroundings. So I think it's a waste of time, and expensive as well. Better to invest into social media advertising.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Barida
Those living in the rural areas don't have the need for mobile phone since they may not afford it. This is where we need posters to help to share those information with them and on what they need to do on that.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

davedaot04
Agree, that's where you should put your posters, especially on rural areas because as what you've said they maybe don't have mobile phones, but even in rural areas it's still helpful, because if someone maybe is not using their phone and they like to wander around then they might take a look at posters.

It’s a sign of the times that often people are so buried in their phones that they don’t look up to see what’s around them. Sad but true in a lot of cases.

Yes they're still effective but social media marketing is much more effective now with its wider and more targeted reach. It's cheaper too. Everybody's on social media and advertisers should focus more on that.

Yes of course. Even if we are already in digital stage, there are still folks working outside and there are still companies who used those platforms because they know that people can see the posters in billboards especially when they are going home. Since not all people get to use technology they tend to look for those advertisement outside. Not all companies can afford large tv's for them to advertise their product in the outside world. They maybe have budget but its too much expensive when putting a digital tv outside. Posters is much cheaper than digital so companies would rather choose cheaper ones than expensive.

Yes. Posters are still effective and relevant nowadays. It is still a good and effective advertising strategy. Many company and organizations are still using posters because they are still effective. It can give them unlimited opportunities to advertise their products to the public.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

knnon
Of course it is. And it's still as effective as it was before. It's still one of the most recognizable form of ad and merchandise anywhere. People still need something physical like posters and flyers to help out with their businesses.

I think that posters nowadays are still relevant as I still see a lot pf them in my hometown and other places in my country. They are still very useful since they can easily get the attention of a wide range people and it is a good adverting method that is really effective since people can easily noticed it and remember them instantly.

I think so too. Posters are known for being memorable. Kind of like the famous movie posters for old movies. I'm sure everyone can relate about feeling excited to see these movies when they were just released.

Posters are still useful as an advertisement tool and easily catch the attention of the customers no matter what your trying to sell, as long as there are people who could actually see it. I still seeing a lot of posters anywhere I go and it was effective to me no matter what it is.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

What's funny is that posters are like mini versions of billboards. Everyone is likely to see them since they're put all over the place. As long as you place them on relevant areas, I'm sure people will want to know more about what's shown. Particularly, your target people.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

People might look, but not see, if you understand me correctly. People are blind to their surroundings nowadays, which is sad. They look down on their phone, rather than around themselves. Posters used to be more popular 10 years ago or so, without digital technology being so developed.

The only time I think posters might be relevant today is during election campaigns. You'll see walls tampered with candidate's faces on them everywhere you look. For a business, I'm not sure. I guess it depends on your niche like if what you sell is through offline means and most of your customers are nearby, posters might work. Best to have a combination of both digital and traditional ways.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
That's true. It's really more for those who aren't easily reached by digital marketing. It's the classic way of attracting potential clients. If you have a pretty poster with a clear message, then you're more likely to catch people's attention.

That's what I'm thinking. I see a lot of posters outdoors everytime election time is nearing. The rest of the time I can see them indoors inside malls. Fast-food joints like KFC and McDonald's usually have posters showing off their promos.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Oh yes, election campaign posters are still a big thing where I live too. I think for many politicians they assume they’ve got to reach a wide range of people and if they only use social media they’re discounting a whole segment of the population.

Correct. I remember back in the day. I use to give out flyers for a running candidate in politics. I would stand in a very crowded place giving out these things with a smile. I did it for ten days, I believe, and got paid $100 when my stock of flyers ran out. It was a good experience.

Posters are still pretty important no matter how we look at it and the good thing that I have noticed is that it is now cheaper for those that want to print. Some basic advertising and campaigns can go on when there is a poster for it which is pretty cool.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
That's cool. Posters are very attractive for most people. Especially, well designed ones. I remember everyone collecting posters back then. It was the thing before everything became digital. Those with signed autographs by celebrities felt priceless.

I agree with you. Well, aside from the fact that it has become cheaper, the goof side of lesser printed posters is lesser paper. Lesser paper is equals to lesser trees being cut. I can't help but to see the good side, because we're saving our earth.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
Posters are necessary because they're able to promote stuff without talking to people. You simply post it on a wall and everyone passing by will see it. After that, it's up to the consumers on whether they'll seek out the products or services shown.

As others have mentioned, I do think they can still have impact. Things like the location they’re placed and how eye catching the design is can all factor in to how well the posters are received. I still think they have the potential to be very helpful for businesses if you do it right!

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

theresajane
Yes, you are right. You have to think of your target market and your target place. Through that, you'll be able to hit the right place for your poster.

I think it’s also a great way for graphic designers to show off their skills. Posters can be a lot of fun to design and with the whole range of software available these days you can make some amazing eye catching displays.

Of course! Not everyone has the same access to the internet and digital services but people love a good poster. My undergraduate university used to spend months designing posters for events they woul dhold because people would take them and hang them in their apartments. The value of a good poster isn't that it just advertises your event, it's that people will take it and keep if for years to come if they like it enough. And that's advertising and marketing that can outlast your compnay.

I miss movie posters, nowadays it's getting scarce because modern cinemas are now using LED Screens playing movie clips instead of displaying posters.

Ohh yes this is true! I have two movie posters here. One is Godzilla, the other one is Ironman. Some cinemas still use the good old posters since they're cheaper to maintain Are Posters still Relevant Nowadays?)

There are still movie posters in cinemas in here in our country. But, the availability of the posters are not as much as it is before

Posters are very effective tools. The idea is to put out info to the public. As such, putting them on the right areas is the key. and of course that is, where the public is, or where they usually pass by. People may say that they are just a waste of time as people do not usually look at them anymore. This is far from true. A person may be busy, but his mind would continue to examine his surroundings as he go. Thus, when there is a visible enough poster where a person pass by, his mind somehow process that image even if the person was not really focused on it. And this would be retain in his memory for a short period of time. But since he would walk through the same way over and over again, information will be reinforced until it is a clear memory for a person. That is how ads work and that is how posters work for ads. Now, think about this, that is just one person. Think about how many pass by that poster everyday? The higher the traffic the higher the possibility of sales.

Steve5
I like how you explained it. Now that I think about it, online ads work the same way. Reinforcement is a powerful tool that's often forgotten. We're more focused on short lived eye catching ads. When really, we should focus more on something that blends well with the background.

Something that people wouldn't mind seeing again and again. Until they remember it without even trying.

Sometimes I am using some posters whenever I have something that I need to advertise to some people in my locality. I am really confident in the old methods of advertising since people are already used to it and they can easily adapt with it.

You're right. A lot of us are familiar with posters. It's really simple and reliable. We just look at it and take the relevant information. I feel like it's been used a lot for concerts and musicians.

I think they are still effective. Posters can still catch people's attention. The advantage of posters is that you can put them anywhere and people will see it. You don't even need to have an electricity to light up the poster. You can put posters where people can see them and it's an effective way to target people who are not into social media.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yes it's still relevant, I can still see posters everywhere outside of our house, also in public places mostly in the streets or just beside the road, it's really useful especially when there's a traffic and people naturally looks at something that's colorful or catchy so make sure to make your posters lively and choose a color that's vibrant.

Yes, they are still relevant to this day. Advertisement for movies, shows, food, religion, politics all use posters. Billboards still command a very high price per day. The more visible your product is, the more consumers would give it a chance and patronize it just for being familiar with it. I think posters are still here to stay.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Of course posters are still relevant. The trick I believe is to have it in both print and soft copy. That way, you get the social media people with the digital copies, and the analogue lovers with the print posters. The truth is, as much as the world is evolving with technology, there are those who love the old days and stick to it. You do not want to miss any one of these groups as you will want to get all the money you can get.

Having a poster for your advertisement is a great idea to boost your campaign. It can help you spread your advertisement faster and farther. They are less expensive than other platforms plus they can give you a 24/7 advertisement without paying a timeslot. Posters are still effective even in this digital age.

I believe the poster is still relevant even in this day of age, yes we have social media and other digital platforms, but you can't deny that poster are cheap and still effective marketing tools just make sure your poster is of high quality and standards, catchy and not boring so that the people would easily notice them.

I agree. Posters can still be used for advertisement. You just have to create such design that will catch other people's attention. On that way, people will tend to remember your post because of its uniqueness.

I remember a decade back, when most fastfood restaurants are made out of see thru glass walls and they always stick on posters of their promos and new products on the glass. They don't do that anymore. What they do is have a standee at the store front or have it on the back of the cashier or the ordering crew.

Posters will never go out of style. As long as there are businesses and their are people who need to be motivated and inspired by constant reminders posted in conspicuous places throughout the workplace, posters will be in style.

Posters are still relevant yes. But not as much as before. People are more likely to see a poster online than in person. Plus posters require printing while just posting it on your page is free.

For me, yes, posters can still be used for advertisement. They are economical and bolder than other kind of advertisement. The use of posters might have decreased but I still think that it is a good and effective way of advertising.

For a local product yes it is but for an international branding I think you need the help of online marketing since you would need to invest a lot of money for posters if you are planning to advertise worldwide. That would only lead you to lose more money than to earn unless you already made your brand popular. When that happens, the branches you made can make posters from different places.
