The best time of the day to take pictures.

Do you sometimes feel that there is a specific time of the day when your photos look great if you take a picture on that specific time of the day? It is weird, but I do prefer taking photos, generally, just for leisure during afternoons, during  sunsets, when the sunlight is so soft and warm. I love how the natural light affects the whole vibe of my photos.

Well, it may not be me, so I'm here to ask if anyone of you has the same feeling as I do. Are there moments when you think that you love to take photos because it's "that time" of your regular day?

Sunsets and sunrise are the best times. These are good with a nice panorama. It happens during that time usually one gets the right shades and color that you need in images

I perfectly agree. The shades are so pretty. The orange and red hues blend so well together. You can also see the change in sky as minutes pass by. It's a feeling of wonder when taking photographs.

The sun is great since it is a natural source of unlimited light and one can easily manipulate it in any way they want when taking the pictures. This means that for me the best time to take some snaps would be when there is some natural sun out.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
I know what you mean. The shadows made by natural sunlight is so mesmerizing. This is why professional photographers enjoy shadows cast in the surroundings. The imagery is unique.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Youngshark
The stuff of professional photographers is just amazing. I mean how do they even manipulate those angles to take pictures that are so beautiful to stare at. I would never be passed by an opportunity to be taught.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
I don't know either. A lot of it has to do with having a good setting. They need to be able to move around. Like choose the best spots to photograph.

Angle shots could be something developed through formal training and experience. It becomes more of an instinctive thing the longer they've been doing it.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Youngshark
There are also those who learn through creativity and trial and error. This is true because you will find that some of the best professional photographers have their own unique designs for taking the pictures.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
I agree. I find their unique takes stunning. No wonder they get to have art gallery displays. A lot of their photographs are breathtaking.

The time they've spent practicing and honing their craft definitely shows.

Art is something which is always capable of making people get amazed and from time to time I have found myself gazing at some of the best pictures by some of the genius photographers.

Yes, same here with me, I love the blending of the color of the sunset, it really relaxes my eyes.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
Me too. I like staring outside the window when the sun is about to set. I inhale deeply and enjoy the beautiful sight. I also imagine how nice it would be to paint the scenery. But I'm not an artist. So I settle for taking photographs.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

It's true, shades are really good especially in sunset, the sky's color became really good.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
It's a pretty sight. I've noticed how it's common to see pictures of gorgeous sunsets. Even in social media. It's almost always when the sun is setting down. The orange glow is like a candle flickering out.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

stbrians
When the photos are taken against beautiful backgrounds they normally become like images taken from the outer space. I love such pictures and photos very much.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
Me too. It's funny how you mentioned outer space. I also enjoy photos taken from up above. The best pictures I've seen so far are from documentaries in cable TV. They detail the intricate process of capturing high resolution images outside Earth.

The best time to take pictures is the noon time. This is in between the sunrise and sunset. You no longer need extra lighting when you take pictures at midday.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
You're right. The lighting during that time is nice. I like the effect of early morning light. Just before 6 AM. It has an otherworldly quality to it. Like a gentle blue light.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

menchuuy58
Having variation at times is good. You may take pictures on sunrise. You can also take good pictures at sunset.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
I like both. Though, I prefer early daylight because of its luminosity. Sometimes there's even moonlight faintly visible. It makes for pretty pictures.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

menchuuy58
During night time, when I take pictures I use the flash. If I don't use the flash, the pictures developed are not that really good. It is very important to use the flash.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

anyone01
With regards to night photography, the secret is the not to make it blurred or pixilated. So the primary factor that you will need is a great camera to ensure that your picture doesn’t appear to be shadows of grains. In case you are an a beginner photographer like me then the best wager could be to head for a budget digicam alternative and there is nothing better than a smartphone camera as you already have it.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
I've noticed that as well. Flash makes it easier for us to take pictures during night time. Without it, we often end up with dark and blurry photographs. I'm happy with the flash my smartphone has.

Yes, you got it. The perfect shades during sunsets (and also sunrises) are the factors that make me love taking photos during that time of the day.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

stbrians
The most amazing pictures of the time are of sunsets and sunrises. If you get a perfect shot the better. Taking them in the background of infrastructuresike bridges, churches and others do really bring out a good colour and shade. The blending is so good.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
Me too. It's like you're one with nature. You really that things are starting to look up. It's this simple beauty that can never be changed. I enjoy staring at the sky during these times of the day.

Anytime can be a good time taking pictures that's if your indoors with proper lighting. But if your outdoors then it depends on the weather you're having. But generally taking photos in the morning is the best time.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

esteban123
Yes I agree with that, I usually take pictures during this time because I am having a good angle and photos for that. It is really prefect because the view is very nice which is simply amazing.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Everyone likes sunsets. It's one of life's natural wonders. That's why many of us are drawn to taking pictures of it. Like you said, the view is like no other. I see why early artists love to draw the horizons.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yes, I agree with you, even me I enjoy the view of the sunset and sunrise, so I guess it's a good thing to take pictures during those time.

I am not a good photographer but I was thinking the same thing. Sunrise or sunset.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
We don't have to be that good with taking pictures. All we need is a camera and some inspiration. Many amateur work is still appreciated. Just think of the ones we usually see on Facebook and Instagram.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

DenisP
Yup, this is the definitive answer. Those twilight hours near sunrise and sunset are considered to be optimal times for shooting photos, which is why they’re known as “magic hours” among photographers.

For one thing, that is when the light is softest, which gives you a lot of wiggle room when it comes to different settings like shutter speed and aperture in order to get the right balance of composition and exposure.

Also, since the sun is at an angle, textures pop out more and the shadows create for a more vibrant, dynamic image.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ElectorAlexande
I so agree with you because the light will help make the photos look natural and aesthetic.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

mcnasci24
Definitely agree with this. I've found out that for me, between 5-7 am and 4:30-6 pm are the best hours for photography, as these timeframes encase the sunrise and sunset completely.

I agree with. A perfect background to. I think the shading and the lighting would gives you a bit more creative.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

This is the great time to take some of your photo because of the light from our sun that give different lighting unlike from just the typical day light. You could also use the sun for your background of your subject.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

sonnyisabeast
Yeah, it;s nice to take pictures with the flash turned off. Natural light is still the best, but yes I agree with you. Especially on those orange afternoons, that's what me any my daughters call it. On orange afternoons, we always go out and enjoy how orange everything is and take those orange-y pictures.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
That's funny. It's really nice that you get to enjoy your afternoons with your daughters. It makes for a nice bonding time. The orange colors seem to be a favorite. Sunsets just have that awe factor to them.

I agree with you. The color is so caltivting that even those who don't love the color orange would really love it.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I think there are. Sometimes you're lucky and find a good spot for taking pictures. It could be about the weather. Like how some of us prefer taking pictures with sunny backgrounds. I like sunsets. The shadows cast make for beautiful photographs.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

nrnlss
yeah, I agree with you, sometimes there are certain places that looks really beautiful depends on the time and weather.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ElectorAlexande
The settings also matters because with a great lighting from the sun, you also need a wonderful background.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
You're right. The background helps elevate the picture quality. A lot of photographers use the sun as a natural lighting. It enhances the clarity of the image much more than artificial lighting.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

mark8625
I agree with you on that. Many beautiful spot to take photos. I mostly like to take my pictures with the nature like beach and mountains.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yes, I am quite lucky for finding a good spot for taking pictures. I really love sunsets because of the shade that it brings which makes a photo look amazing.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

It's easier to take photos in broad daylight between 7am - 3pm when the sun still shines, it's because you don't need to use a flash or find a light source.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
I would say that extending it to 3:00 pm is too far because the day's sun would be at its peak by that time of the day which would cause too much light interference with the photos especially casting of shadows.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

ElectorAlexande
Yea thats true but they is an angle you will stand and your shadow doesn't really matter and you will have a great shot from there.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I think sunsets in my place is around 5pm or so and that's when you have a great photo with the yellow sun in it.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

nrnlss
Usually if the weather is really good, or sunset or sunrise. That's where I took photos the most.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Martinsx1
The weather is a very big factor in determining when it's the best time to take pictures. Once the weather is not bright or too sunny, taking good pictures would be very difficult.

If it's raining, taking pictures is going to be virtually impossible to carry out except if you are using digital cameras or iPhone that are water resistant.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

menchuuy58
I strongly agree with you. Its really difficult to take pictures when the rain is so heavy and hard. You must already use water resistant cameras or phones.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I agree with you, it also depends on the equipment you have.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I agree with you. Well, it would be very nice too if something rare like experiencing a beautiful sunset and a sudden drizzle would happen too.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

menchuuy58
The weather is a great determining factor in taking good photos. I believe that when the weather is good, its also a good time to take pictures. When it is gloomy, its not the best time to take pictures.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Kakashi2020
I completely agree during those times it's easier to take photos. In my opinion, it's harder to take photos during sunrise and sunset, although the view is quite captivating.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Morning periods are my favorite time to take pictures. This should be done right before the morning sun comes up. Just the morning brightness is enough to make the picture look good and very clear.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

allyn2017
Yes, it is really good. The strike of the sun, the sun rays and it makes the lightings naturally perfect.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

menchuuy58
That's right. If the picture is done in the morning, You don't need to use the flash. The sun rays will be the natural lighting.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Sometimes you take pictures depending on the time of the occasion. For example, if the birthday celebration is done on the evening, you take pictures at night. Just like last night, we attended a birthday party that started at night.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

mark8625
Many people likes that too. It is because morning have natural light that can help us to make our photo more beautiful. If you want to take pictures at night you need additional light.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

amelia88
I find the afternoon "golden hour" is the best time for pictures. Shortly before the sun sets when you've got those beautiful reddish, soft sunlight hues makes for really beautiful pictures, and good conditions for taking photos. I think you can also get the same effects shortly after the sun has come up in the mornings if that works better for your schedule.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

allyn2017
I usually took photos if the sun just rise, for me it is the perfect. The lighting's are really good.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

mark8625
So do I. I like daytime to capture photos. More light will help a lot to have a perfect picture.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

anyone01
You could attempt capturing pictures during the mid day because the water will be shiny and brilliant, however for the reason that sun is overhead the light could be very harsh and it will produce darkish shadows. Photographs won’t come out that nicely on this light however experimenting with numerous lighting situations would possibly yield superb surprising outcomes.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

edencaga
For me it's better to take a photo when it's sunrise, sunset and afternoon. When I am taking pictures mid day I make sure that I don't hit by light or I am just in shaded areas as I can't really see the screen s and I can't really decide if the shot is good or kinda bright or dark.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

DenisP
The general rule of thumb is that the best times to take pictures is a couple of hours after sunrise, as well as a couple of hours before sunset. This is because the sun is at an angle relative to the surface, so it really makes all the textures pop in the environment. Not to mention that the color of the light is most beautiful at these hours.

The worst time to take pictures is at noon. Not only is the sun too bright at this time, but when it’s directly overhead it makes everything look bland and washed out. Shadows are a really important element when it comes to photography.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

amelia88
Yup, I've never had success at midday trying to get good shots. Everything's too bright and reflective...I know some people say you can work your angles a certain way for pictures to turn out okay, but I find it easier to just succumb to the sun and work with it in the hours that it's most productive and helpful!

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

DenisP
Well I mean it isn’t technically impossible to get a good-looking photo during midday, and there are definitely certain tricks you can use by utilizing natural shade. That being said, why work harder when you can work smarter, right?

It’s way, way easier to just wait for the proper time of day to take your photos, and the results are guaranteed to always be better than anything you can do during midday. There’s a reason why those certain hours are called “magic hours” among photographers, because that’s when the best photos are taken.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

You can take pictures anytime you would like but for me I prefer morning because we are just wake up and we look fresh. After bath also of course.

I love taking pictures during the golden hour too! Everything becomes warm and golden and pretty, the lighting is not too faint or too harsh, and the soft colors give a sense of comfort. I love the overall feel it gives the photos.

The best time to take pictures is when you feel like it, haha! Kidding aside, the time of day does not matter I think as long as lighting conditions are good enough.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

edencaga
Yeah. Lighting condition is very important. You can take pictures at night with of course correct amount of lights. You can have good flash if it's dark so I think it depends to the one who take pictures. It's a strategy that you need to enhance so I guess it's good to know the functions of each settings on the camera and right angle for a good shot. The balance of light and dark gives us a good result.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

NerdIndeed
Correct. I also notice a few video bloggers who shoot their videos at night or indoors but with proper lighting. One mentioned that she looks better without the sunlight and only use lighting devices they have.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yeah, I love lighting with colors like blue and pink or yellowish light. It makes the shot more creative and stunning. I preferably love taking shots of silhouette in sunset most especially if the settings is at the beach.

I see. As for me, I love taking photos of old people. Then I make it black and white. There's something about it that makes it captivating or maybe that's just me.

I think during the sunrise because the background during sunlight is good for taking pictures, because it doesn't have too much exposure.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Well, yes definitely, tho taking pictures at night is way romantic as well.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Most of us have there favourite time for taking pictures. I think my favourite time to click pictures will be at sunrise. In the morning the sun rays are not very intense and the Sunlight is not harsh. Also early in the morning, there is some kind of energy and freshness in the atmosphere and I love to catch that freshness in my pictures. I don't however like to take pics during the afternoons due to the harsh sunlight and the overall dullness in the atmosphere.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Yes. Taking shots on sunrise is amazing. I have tried it when we went on vacation tour in Sagada. Sagada is one of good spots in Philippines. You can visit the Kiltepan's Sagada sunrise where in you are on the top or peak of the mountain and you will discover how beautiful to see a sun rising up with those forming clouds. It was really nice experience.

That is right. There is nothing happier than that. There is no other place like home and no best buddies than family.

For me it depends on what is the subject of your photo. I sell items online and when I take pictures of them to post, I usually do it morning when the sun is not yet that strong. Not advisable to do it also in the evening because aside from the photo looks dull because of the lighting, I have a hard time avoiding shadow to appear in the photo. Taking photos of nature and people will suit any time I guess. It is up to you on how you will make it look artistic whatever lighting is given to you.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Taking pictures at night needs a proper light for it to looks clear. I think during the day is the best time to take pictures.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

mark8625
At night you need a strong light and flash in order to capture it better. I hate flash because I have eye problem so I need to take pictures during daytime.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
I'm sorry to hear that. I actually find flash a bit uncomfortable as well. I agree with what you said. While it may somewhat help illuminate the picture, it can never replace proper lighting.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I actually don't have a specific time of the day where I prefer to take photos. However, because I only use my Smartphone for taking photos, which does have a slightly incompetent camera, I always prefer to take photos during the day time because of the natural light that I can get which is good for my phone's camera because it's really bad with low light shots.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
Mine too. Phones have way better cameras these days. But they're not that good when it comes to night time photography. That's why most of us usually take pictures during the day. We don't have to set up any lighting equipment to improve the picture's luminosity.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

jaybee19
True. Phone cameras are totally better compared to how it was in the past especially during the era of basic phones but their downside as always is their capability to take good night shots. There is actually a lot of equipment that doesn't need a lot of time to set up like the ring light. However, they're kind of costly and the shots are also a bit over exposed so the personal preference would still matter in this case.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
Yeah. Ring lights do improve the brightness. But they tend to white wash the person's features. This is why a lot of users appear to be much whiter than their original appearance. It can also obscure their image.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

jaybee19
True. Ring lights can definitely make you look whiter but for an Asian like me, it's actually better because mostly, Asians prefer to have whiter skin and so a lot of people here loves to use ring lights. Actually, for me, ring lights are the best for taking videos especially for vlogs because it will definitely improve your visuals, although it's kind of faking your real image. But, who cares for as long as it will improve your image as a vlogger.

Sometimes early morning is also a great time to take photos because everything is fresh under the sun. We can have a good angle as well because the light is not so powerful as compare when we are to shot during lunch time or afternoon. It is really good if we have some good cameras so that we can a better shots.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I like it too. Early morning light is the gentlest. Especially, before 6 AM in the morning. You can see the faint color of blue skies reflected in the light coming from the sky. It photographs really well.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

esteban123
Yes that is true, I have seen many people in my locality taking pictures and doing some photography early in the morning that is why I concluded that it was the best time to have some shots for some photo shoots that they are making. I feel more convenient to take pictures during this time because I can easily find some great angles to capture.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

Steve5
That's nice to know. I also like early morning light because it makes fair people look stunning. It enhances their already white skin and gives it a subtle glow. It's so pretty. It looks as though moonlight is lighting their path.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

esteban123
Yes that is right and I really want to study photography if I have the tome and money to do that so that I can be able to know more about its perfect shot and some techniques about it. Taking photos is really a great activity to do especially if we don't have much time to do on certain things.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

The best time to take photos is in the afternoon. The natural light that sun gives can make your skin looks glowing and beautiful! You don't need the other source of light since you can get it from the sun. Just make sure that you can get the right angle and you will be able to make a great picture.

So true! I think people with warm undertones look great in bright sunlight. It makes them look healthy and illuminated. Though, it's tricky to get the right angle. But once you do, it's sure to be an Instagram worthy picture.

Now I see why there are lots of lazy afternoon photos. It looks appealing.

A friend of mine told that it was great to take photos during sunset. Especially when the sky has an orange color, it reflects on your skin. I never tried it but I think the touch of orange color on your skin can make your photo look great!

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

I think so too. It looks amazing for those with warm undertones. Early daylight is perfect for those with cool undertones. That's how photographers manage to get that perfect shot using different models. They choose what goes well with the person's skin color.

Your friend heard right! Apparently the best times to take photos are the hour when the sun is rising in the morning and the hour that the sun is setting in the evening! Which makes sense is the light isn't as harsh , the sky is beautiful, and at least for the morning people are still mostly asleep.

Not too long ago, I searched the internet on how to get good pictures even without camera with just your phone and one of the tips there is getting a good lighting. Lighting is very important in every photos and tge vest time i think is before the sun set like 5-6 PM.

Getting a natural lighting is better than artificial light. They give different effects on pictures.

The golden hours are after the sun has risen and before the sun goes down. The lights are well distributed during these hours and you won't get unwanted shadows on your photos. You can more or less control them during these hours.

I have tried to take some shot and make some selfie this afternoon around 4: 30 pm and I find it to be cool and pleasant to eyes. The shot was really good because the light from the sun was already diminishing which gives an exact light that would not overcome our photos. It was simply amazing because it looks good and very nice.

In this day of digital photography, you can pretty much create just about any ambiance you desire after the photo is taken. You just need a photo editing software of some kind, whether on your phone or computer, and work on the picture to your heart's content. You can't always wait for that perfect time of day to get the shot you want, especially if your subject matter is fleeting and you may not get another opportunity. So, in my case, it doesn't really matter to me what time of day I snap a photo, as long as there is enough light.

Are you sure you want to delete this post?

The best time to take pictures is when the sun isn't at it's maximum brightness. 7 AM to 9 AM and 4 PM to 5 PM is best in my opinion. Getting the golden light from 5 PM to 6 PM is tricky as the sun can set extremely fast in these hours. Should you have to shoot outside those hours, you better have an ND filter with you as most of your shots will be overexposed.

My preference would be during sunrise. I work in a resort where you have a backdrop of a beautiful sunrise. When I am on my morning shift, I go to the ocean where you can see the sunrise and the beautiful sky. It is really amazing. I also love taking pictures of the full moon when I am in the resort. The beauty of the moon that reflects on the ocean is breathtaking.

I do love to take photos during dusk and dawn. It has either the romantic or mysterious vibe which, for the viewer, tells a story. I like taking candid photos because they are much more personalized and meaningful compared to selfies thus taking photos this time of the day adds more meaning to it..

Lighting tends to add a dramatic and cinematic effect on photos. If you take a photo of the same subject during early morning and then again at sunset you'll see a big difference. Taking a photo under the soft lighting of early morning gives the photo a calm vibe. Taking pictures midday gives it an energetic and lively feel. And taking photos during sunset gives it a solemn, melancholy feel. I don't know if it's the same for everyone but that's just how I see it.

It depends on the mood you want to have on your picture. As long as there is daylight that is free lighting for you so take advantage of it. Photos will have a different feel to them depending on the angles and time of day, photos taken at dawn, noon and dusk will all have a different vibe to them. Although you can now edit your photo afterwards anyway you want I still prefer to retain that natural look to it.

I like taking pictures of sunsets, I like the colors and how it does something beautiful with my skin.
I don't have a "best time of the day" to take photos as long as I have great lighting and I don't take photos using professional cameras, I just use my phone so it really doesn't matter to me.
